7ft Serpentine dragon chainsaw carved sculpture
It's been a few days since I posted anything. Been working hard on finishing this piece. Commissioned by the US Army, I added many pieces together to create this. Here is the finished product
Other side
This is where I started adding pieces together. Legs and midsection.
Honestly didn't know how I was going to do it when I took the order. But confident I could.
Adding his head...
Then carving it, shaping the body, prepping it for more additions
Brought it indoors where it was warm, glue doesn't like to dry in freezing temps. Got it ready to add the arms
Shoulders attached
Forearms and claws...
Carved the tail section and got it ready to connect
Connected
Now shaped and ready for detailing
Here it is just before burning
Torched it
Sanded it down a bit, all ready for varnish.
Thanks for looking, if you like please upvote and resteem
Wow! You've got some interesting stuff here. What amuses me the most are the scales on the body! That's a lot of detail there. I do some work with gums too and discover they don't do well in cold areas. I usually have to put off the fan when doing some of my works...
I checked you blog too and found this carving of some bears...
All your works are just beautiful I imagine I'm the one doing these things. I am so glad you are on this blockchian.
Steem on... @dorth
@dorth thank you very much. Chainsaw carving is so much fun, who knew it could be a career? Buying diapers and a house with dead wood shaped into things people don't need..hahaha carve or starve!
Thanks again
this is awesome - glad I caught this in time to resteem!
Following you now.
