What is it?!!? Name That Scroll!?!?!? Vincent Van Gogh Biography?? Manuscript + Artwork!??! Part 2 of 8
My parents purchased a house for a rental property a couple years back. I helped go thru the house and sort what the previous owner had left and this was probably the most interesting item we found!
This scroll (as I call it) contains VERY old French and sketches of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh and appears to be a biography and maybe dialogue like a play??
We have asked a few people what this thing is exactly and no one has been able to say what it is for sure!!!
The first 2 or 3 feet of this has been cut and taped back together but the rest of it is a continuous piece of paper. That tells me that this was intended to be a book maybe?!?!?!
SOOO...i'm asking for your help steemit!! What is it?! A story?! A play?! A biography? Fan Art?! A manuscript?? Help me out here!!
I'm going to break this up into 8 parts because there are 86 pictures and that's just too much for one post!!
Below are 10 or so more photos of the scroll!! PLEASE let me know if you know what this is!!!!!!!!
UPDATE
@fknmayhem has been more than helpful with identifying this!! He was aware of a book by Robert Morel that references a manuscript written by Noel Emile-Laurent!!!
We both think that this is THAT manuscript or at least a copy of it!!!
Please let me know what you think this is in the comments!!!

It looks like it could be a book manuscript or a paper(Master's thesis or something). It looks old but could be more recent. Take a magnifying glass and look at it closely. If there are tiny dots of ink it's dot matrix. Lithographs and serographs do not have these dots. No dots is good, dots bad. Good luke! If it's not dot matrix, you can usually find appraisers online. It's usually about $75.
Thats a good idea about looking at it closely!! I have a microscope so i'll look at it tomorrow!!
What a great find and what a great mystery. I would like to see it solved. I see why you think about Vincent van Gogh. I am no expert in his work so I cant help you further. Maybe you can contact the van Gogh museum in the Netherlands? They are sure experts! I don't know how to link their website yet but here it is: https://vangoghmuseum.nl/en
Awesome! I was going to get around to finding their contact info eventually!!! THANK YOU!
They will probably speak English very well but if you need some Dutch English translation i am able to help you out
Ok thank you! I will email them and go from there!
This is such an exciting find! I'd want to take it to a museum somewhere to see if they know more about its history
I know!! I will be contacting the van gogh museum soon!
Excellent! You'll have to make sure you let us know what they say! I can't wait to find out
Interesting, i will look for update!
