"Mind over Matter", original art. Breaking The Loop Of Reaction
“Mind over matter” is somewhat untypical painting compared to the rest of my art.
"Mind over matter", oil on 44x44 inch canvas. Sold to private collector.
Besides the different delivery, the technique I used is very different too. It is mostly painted with a spatula (painting knife) rather than a brush.
You've probably heard this many times- mind over matter. For many of us what is boils down to is that we create this world with our minds. To me, I've come to this realization: same as the whole concept of reincarnation or the principle of Karma, this is only partially true (ultimately both of these phenomena, or better said- all phenomena, is collective rather than individual). What stands in the way of experiencing the other half, or I should say The Whole of the Truth, is our illusion of separate identity.
As far as we believe, that we are separate entity with its own personality and intelligence, having free will to operate in the game of life (rather than “being inseparable part of life force with very little control of it”), we are simply self-identified with our minds, constantly fighting for survival through maintaining this illusion.
Details of the knife work and dripping effect.
I don't blame the mind at all. After all, if you merge with the Source, you have to die first. Die to all that you know and to all that you worked so hard to attain- your dreams, talents, aspirations, opinions, all that beautifully accumulated Knowledge. And who are you after death? A big Unknown. This generates the greatest of our fears which is behind every single one of our countless other fears: the fear of annihilation, the fear of Death. The fear of finality of our existence.
With this in mind (beautiful paradox since mind has to be “out” of this equation), I now came to experience the “Mind over matter” in one sole thing: attitude. And even your attitude is subject to the biochemistry in your body, namely the very fine hormonal system, over which we have little control.
Attitude is the matter of awareness. Awareness can make you aware of your self-built prison. It gives you a chance to take a breath before taking action, and step out of the loop of reactive mind pattern. And with enough time and practice, the old loop becomes defunct and new one is created. And that in turn, can change your attitude. When you attitude changes, you are given a brand new pair of eyes. And that gives you and entirely new life.
In progress. Sorry for the low quality pictures (reflection)
Mind is over matter, but it is also part of matter. We do create our reality, but only to certain limited extent. After all- what is reality? You don't think that the 0.0000......................1 speckle of nothing that we perceive via our senses and brain out of the totality of The multidimensional holographic Universe is Reality, don't you? :)
The Great Wisdom lies beyond our minds, and at one point on the pilgrimage to the other shore, humans will realize a beautiful thing. That the the yearning to answer the pressuring question "WHY?" was just a phase on our long journey back to the Light.
All you need to know is this: Universe has but one wish - for you to remember that you are Love and there is nothing in you but Love.
Trust in Life. Completely. Utterly. Magically.
Much Love on your journey,
Jan

These two originals went missing on my 2015 show in Vancouver Chinatown. I had a buyer for one of them. This was a time that I took a breath before I reacted with frustration. I guess the new owner needed them more:)

Wow, man! I think this one is the best art I have ever seen on steemit! Great work!
Thank you for your kind words @the-future . Very appreciated!
My mind is totally blown by this painting @jankasparec I am seeing it with new eyes! I think the illusion of time is one of the more difficult notions to grasp... but realizing there really is, only one eternal moment, is the most liberating thing in this world! Wonderful article!
