Desde que ví este personaje me pareció sencillo en general. Lo cierto es que estaba equivocada (y por mucho tiempo).

Since I saw this character, I found it simple in general. The truth is that I was wrong (and for a long time).

Luffy es un chico que desborda energía de manera positiva. Como todo niño a veces es algo tonto, pero eso sí no olvida lo que aprende por ejemplo el significado de la amistad. Todo eso hace que se convierta en un chico que tiene (y practica) muy en alto los valores.

Luffy is a boy who overflows with positive energy. Like all children, he is sometimes a little silly, but that does not forget what he learns, for example, the meaning of friendship. All of that makes him a kid who holds (and practices) values high.

Hasta el momento cada vez que me preguntan si puedo sacar un personaje (en amigurumi) he dicho que sí. Aún no sé si es por la emoción de aceptar un reto o por la auto confianza. Para tejerlo me basé en imágenes que circulan por las redes y en la etapa de niño.

So far, every time I've been asked if I can bring out a character (in amigurumi) I've said yes. I still don't know if it's for the thrill of accepting a challenge or for self-confidence. To weave it I based myself on images that circulate in the nets and on the stage of the child.

• hilo de bordar / embroidery thread

Hay distintas maneras de tejer a los personajes. Por ejemplo con la ropa pegada al cuerpo, con parte de la ropa pegada al cuerpo y con la ropa aparte. Eso depende en sí por lo general del propio personaje, como es el caso de Luffy, quien fue tejido con algunas partes del vestuario pegadas al cuerpo. Se comenzó el tejido por la suela de las sandalias, las piernas y el short hacia el cuerpo (figuras 1, 2 y 3).

There are different ways of weaving characters. For example with the clothes attached to the body, with part of the clothes attached to the body and with the clothes apart. That in itself usually depends on the character himself, as is the case with Luffy, who was woven with some parts of the costume stuck to the body. The weaving was started by the soles of the sandals, the legs and the shorts towards the body (figures 1, 2 and 3).

Antes de terminar el cuerpo se colocó un palito de plástico (que sujetan los globos), esto para que mantenga el equilibrio (figura 4). Luego se tejió y unió la cabeza y los brazos (figuras 5 y 6).

Before finishing the body, a plastic stick was placed (holding the balloons), this to keep the balance (figure 4). Then the head and arms were woven together (figures 5 and 6).

El chaleco fue tejido en tres partes y se bordó los botones (figura 7 y 8). El cabello y el sombrero fueron medidos de acuerdo al tamaño de la cabeza. Por último se aprecia el bordado del rostro y los detalles (figura 9 y 10).

The vest was woven in three parts and the buttons were embroidered (figure 7 and 8). The hair and the hat were measured according to the size of the head. Finally, the embroidery on the face and the details can be seen (figures 9 and 10).

Y listo, tenemos a Luffy.
And that's it, we've got Luffy.
