Start from the scratch - Hyde park library concept
When it comes to design, the most important thing is to have an idea. A small dose of creativity and a lot of effort should be invested in order to get the concept.
Below, I will show you an example of how the concept arises from the idea.
Hyde park library concept was follow the conditions of the international competition.
It begins like this :)
After the sketches, everything is drawn in the appropriate scale. So we see if we fit into the volume of the object.
Ground level.
First floor.
And after many hours of work, it came my favorit part. Visualisation :)
I used SketchUp, Vray and Photoshop for post rendering efects.
And the final presentation looks like this.
Unfortunately, we did not send a poster in the competition, because me and my team didn't have enough money to participate.
I hope you enjoy. ;)
good project @iamstefan, and the renderings as well. how did the presentation go?
Thank you @misu,
The presentation was great, professors were pleased and gave us the highest mark. :)
why am i not surprised hehe congrats! what year are you?
Now I'm finishing the last year of undergraduate studies. In the autumn I begin with master studies. :)
that's cool @iamstefan keep up the good work!
p.s. did you run any scenarios regarding structure or anything like that? i imagine it would require a special foundation given the proximity to the river and the very courageous cantilevers
In the middle of the Hyde Park in London there is an artificial lake. My college has two directions, architecture and construction. Although it is known in my country that we are not just artists, we are already familiar with statics. So we are very much appreciated here and in the world.
However, this is a preliminary design, so we focus on function, form and construction. Our basic knowledge of the statics was applied, but detailed structural calculations were not made, it is still a job of a construction engineer and it is done when the investor supports the project. :
