Map of Korea in 2018

The Korean peninsula in the past decades has seen rising tensions, wars and confilicts. The differences between the North and the South are mainly political, however, the north has been pursuing a policy of manipluating it's citizens and brainwashing them to believe their leader is god himself. The south, meanwhile, is a very technologically advanced nation, that can be compared to Japan, and also has built a large economy for itself. South korean companies such as Samsung have brought success and economical prosperity to the korean nation.

A bit of history: Before the end of world war two, the Axis was already nearly defeated. The Soviet Union and the allies were occupying as much territory in Germany and Korea to prevent the other from doing so. In Korea, the soviets occupied most of the north, while the americans occupied the south. In the peace conference, Korea was officially divided between a Northern communist regime, and a south capitalist republic. There was a war in 1950 between the 2 koreas, wich also involved the US and Mao's China. The war ended in a stalemate, and the borders were changed slightly. Since then, the DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) was stablished in the border, where no troops from either side would be stationed.

Nowadays, there have been rumours that a Korean unification diplomatically is coming closer. Moon Jae In and Kim Jong Un have been a handful of times in this year (2018), and so has US president Donald J. Trump. Do you think it's possible?
