My Painting ---Lotus 家和万事兴

Lotus is one of the oldest plant in the word,native to China and India. In Chinese paintings, it is loved by most artists for its symbol as purity of charcteristic.

Every summer, it is common that you can see the delicate and charming lotus flower and green lotus leaves in the pond. In ancient times, a group of girls used to row a boat to picke up lotus seeds in the pond, romping and singing.
They are so lovely and pure just like lotus flowers.

Lotus is not only beautiful but also full of treasures. lotus seeds，lotus roots lotus leaves and lotus flower are edible. I often use lotus root for making soup, lotus seeds for making porridge, lotus leaves for wrapping food.

Today I would like to share with you the Chinese painting—-lotus. There are sparrow, lotus in the picture which implies a peaceful family will prosper.

荷花是世界上最古老的植物之一，原产于印度和中国。在国画中也是大家比较喜爱的一个题材。在盛夏的时光里，娇艳的荷花，碧绿的荷叶，本身就很美，再加上荷花特有的品质出淤泥而不染，而更让人怜爱。

在古代，夏秋之际，一些年轻的女子们经常划着小船采摘新鲜的莲子，穿梭于一望无际的荷塘中，又是一道美丽的风景。

荷花不仅漂亮而且浑身是宝。大而圆的荷叶可以包裹食物或者泡茶喝，莲子和地下的茎（藕）可以煲汤，做菜。它们都是很好的药膳食品。

今天给大家分享的这幅画里有麻雀（家雀）、荷花，寓意家和万事兴。送给自己或者朋友们都是非常不错的呢。

The Process 过程：

Use a medium-sized brush to paint the lotus leaves with medium ink.

先用中等大小的毛笔，调中等墨色，画出不同形态的荷叶。

After the leaves was nearly dry, use another small brush to draw the lines of the leaves with dark ink.

等叶子稍微干一些，再用一只小笔，调浓墨给荷叶勾线。

Use another clean brush with red color and water to paint the lotus flowers.

然后再用一只干净的毛笔蘸取少量水调曙红，我画的是红色的荷花，荷花颜色根据自己喜欢来调。画出花瓣 还有花苞。

Draw the lines of the flowers, paint the pistil and flower stalk.

再用一只小笔浓墨勾花瓣，再勾花瓣上的细纹。然后点缀一些花蕊。再画出长长的荷花的柄。

Paint some water plants and lotus seedpod.

再画出一些水草和小莲蓬。
