How to make a heart out of a dollar bill

in #art7 years ago

Origami is a very old technique in which you can bend and fold a paper and can make numerous objects. Origami leads us back to 105 AD in China where it was invented. It was brought to Japan by the monks in the 6th century. Back then, the paper was a luxury and was limited to few. Since then it kept on improving and today you can make any shape out of a small piece of paper by just a few folds. It’s an interesting hobby adopted by a number of people across the globe. You can buy expensive gifts from market to show your love for someone. But if you make something by your own values far more than expensive gifts from the market. Folding a $20 note into a heart shape and giving it to a special friend will make him/her feel more special. So here is an easy guide how you can make a heart out of a $20 bill. For beginners, you can even start with $1.

STEP 1:

Take a plain $1 bill without any wrinkles. You can use a $5, $10 or $20 bill as well.

STEP 2:

Diagonally fold the bottom right corner of the bill.

STEP 3:

Now, you should unfold the bottom right corner. A diagonal crease will be formed.

STEP 4:

As in step 2, diagonally fold the top right corner of the bill and press the note gently.

STEP 5:

Again unfold the top right corner of the bill. You will see the creases forming an ‘X’.

STEP 6:

Now you should fold the right side of the note backwards over the center of the creases forming an ‘X’.

STEP 7:

Now unfold the folded bill. By pushing the middle ceases in, the corners of the note will collapse down.

STEP 8:

Repeat step 6 and 7 by now by taking the left side of the note.

STEP 9:

Straighten the note and fold it into the half. And then unfold it. A longitudinal crease will be formed in the middle of the bill.

STEP 10:

Pull the central section from the creases made in Step 9. Bring the edges together. A rectangular flap will be created at the back. Flatter the bill to the right side and then flip the note over.

STEP 11:

Fold down the top flap and tuck in the corners. Now you’ll be having a single pair of tabs that will be folded on the diagonals pointing upwards. And three layers of folded tabs pointing downwards.

STEP 12:

Flip over the bill and press the creases.

STEP 13:

Now, unfold the bill and flatten down the corners.

STEP 14:

Fold both the bottom corners to the middle crease.

STEP 15:

Again, as in step 13, unfold the bill and flatten down the corners.

STEP 16:

Repeat step 14 and 15 by taking top corners.

STEP 17:

Repeat the procedure with the other three points as well.

STEP 18:

Bold back the right and left corners of the bill.

STEP 19:

To apply the pressure, you can insert a small coin in the middle.

STEP 20:

Your heart shaped $1 bill is prepared. You can apply paints or any other decorative material if you want to.
