In my introductory post I was discussing about how I watch alot of movies in my spare time. So much so that I'm usually at a complete loss when I need to find a new film to watch and sometimes need days to find something that I haven't seen or just anything worth watching. I've started when I was younger with most of IMDB's top 250 list, and as the years went by, I had to delve into spanish, german, asian or french cinema to satisfy my needs. I decided to share with you some of my favorite lesser-known or underrated movies. Some of them are foreign films, but they are all titles that you can find and enjoy with subtitles. I'm a huge fan of drama and I don't watch many feel good movies, so if you're looking for a pick-me-up, action filled blockbuster, this list might not be your thing. But if you like movies that have substance, slow-paced intelligent movies that will make you think well after the credits roll, look no further. I will not be saying much about the movies, or spoiling anything by trying to review the plots in depth. You will have to experience them for yourselves. I strongly believe that the less you know about the story, the better. While obviously this all boils down to preferences and personal taste, I still feel that these were titles worth sharing with the steemit community.

3-Iron (Bin-Jip) - 2004

South-Korean drama by director Ki-Duk Kim about two teenagers finding love through adversity. I was mesmerized by the chemistry between the two main protagonists. They barely talk, but there's still a profound discussion between the two of them in their actions, and through their eyes. It's a magnificent movie and a very moving tale.

The Science of Sleep (La Science des Rêves) - 2006

A film by french director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moon Indigo) about a man-child coming back to live with his grieving mother to mourn the loss of his father. Between the time spent at his boring job and his infatuation for his artsy neighbor, he will often resolve himself to the dream world to find answers to his problems. If you enjoyed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, this is a must-watch. A beautiful, creative and visionnary piece of cinema by Gondry.

Anomalisa - 2016

Written by Charlie Kaufman, one of my favorite contemporary movie directors, is a stop-motion masterpiece. Don't be put-off by the fact that this is an animated movie, it is as human a tale as you will find. ''A man crippled by the mundanity of his life experiences something out of the ordinary'' is as close to a perfect description as you will find. Nominated for an oscar, It still flew under the radar. The animation is stellar, the story is mundane but gut-wrenching. You will definitely forget you're watching puppets after just a few minutes. Kaufman at his best.

Lilya 4-ever (Lilja 4-ever) - 2002

By Lukas Moodson, this swedish drama tells the very cruel story of Lilya, abandonned by her mother and left to herself in soviet-union. A very strange tale of false hopes and despair, friendship and compassion. Unless you are a complete psychopath, this movie will move you to tears and crush your soul. It is so very well directed that it sometimes feel like a documentary, and that makes it that much harder to swallow.

Abre Los Ojos (Open your eyes) - 1997

The original movie by Alejandro Amenabar that has been remade and ''hollywoodized'' by Cameron Crowe as Vanilla Sky in 2001. If you haven't seen either, or you've only seen the remake, please do yourself a favor and watch the original. It still is, to this day, one of my favorite movies of all-time. I like everything about this movie. I still remember how I fell in love with Penelope Cruz while watching. It really is something to see a guy who's had it all, become a monster in the blink of an eye.
