Mini Crystal Show // Exotic Gifts from the Earth // A look back at the Tucson Gemshow
I spent the past two Februaries in Tucson for the International Gemshow hosted there annually. Each year thousands of gem and mineral dealers arrive to show their goods from all around the world. It is truly a magical time where the earth reveals the treasures it holds within. I spent almost every day out looking at gems, making additions to my collection. Below I have featured some of my favorite pieces from this years experience.
A large Kunzite crystal from the Oceanview Mine, CA.
This material is great! It has a beautiful pink color that shifts depending upon which angle it is viewed at.
A closeup of the Kunzite pictured above.
Another awesome piece of Kunzite from the Oceanview Mine, CA.
This is one of my favorite pieces of Kunzite I got this past year, from Afghanistan.
Vare rare mineral Diaspore from a small find in Turkey.
This material is incredibly rare and has only been found in a few places worldwide. The finds are generally small, producing very few specimen grade crystals. Another unique feature of this material is that it changes color from greenish to reddish in different light.
Another piece of Diaspore, this one being tabular in habit.
A deeply saturated Aquamarine crystal from Madagascar.
Aquamarine is possibly my favorite crystal. Something about its deep hues draw me in.
Another Aquamarine crystal from Madagascar.
Three more beautiful Aquamarine Crystals with sky blue color.
This is a very special piece. Rhodochrosite and Fluorite on Quartz from Peru.
Beautiful deeply saturated Emeralds from Brazil.
Etched Heliodor from Brazil.
Amethyst stalactite from Morocco.
Smokey Quartz crystal from South Africa.
Feel free to reach out and request any mineral specimen that you might be interested in seeing me post more of :)
