I know people who have expensive BMWs but rarely drive them (in winter they do not ride at all because I think that the salts that sprinkle roads are dangerous for their cars). That is, people do not openly deny that their machine serves them to raise social status. This is facilitated by the trend that modern machines are more often done by marketers than by engineers. In my opinion, the car should fulfill its main function - transportation.

I wonder if all cars ceased to exist, it would help our atmosphere. But I think that definitely yes. But the situation is two-sided. On the one hand, this is good, but on the other hand, alternatives are required. I hope that in the near future our world will switch to environmentally friendly transport.
