He looks good on the horns! Kudu Antelope - Drawing step by step. (English)

in #art6 years ago

Hello Steemians!

Here a new post of a drawing that I have made and I will share with you 😊

Portada.jpg

Materials:

  • Cardboard 22.8 x 29.8 cm
  • Pencils 2H, 2B and 6B
  • Draft
  • Cotton
  • Pen without ink and the tip of a compass
  • Home fume

To make the home fume, we only have to take a leaf and in a corner we make a small fold so that the tip is firmer. Then we roll it as a conito as thin as we can, stick the edge of the paper and/or tape and ready. When I finish I put a tall stick to make it more stable, but it is everyone's business 😅.

I used the 2H pencil to make the sketch. Then, with the tip of the copás and the pen without ink (Please, assure that there is no ink ...) I began to mark lines on the cardboard for the coat. This method called "dry point" is used so that the thin lines of light can be seen cleaner and real once we value the drawing. Besides the fur, I also did it on the horns.

Already here begins to value and use the following tools, The pencil 6B for the darkest areas and 2B for the lightest. With the cotton, the thinner areas become more diffuse and blend. This will be done throughout the drawing.

You begin to appreciate better the result of the dry tip of the horns. We will also be taking the eraser and with a cutter we cut wedges to use these thin edges and mark the thickest areas of light. Remember to respect the areas of light, and mark with confidence the dark areas.

3-3.jpg

With the tip of the pen without ink (which is thicker than the compass) I made the hair of the ears, since this is one of the areas where they look more "dense" body.

4-4.jpg

And here, where the fur of the face is smaller, I used the tip of the compass. You have to be confident to mark the dry point well so that you can appreciate the light. Of course, you do not have to be so rustic not to rip either cardboard or other xD substrate and we continue to value and blur with our homemade tools. 😃

5-5.jpg
Here we start with the rest of the body, most of the fur that I used on the tip of the compass, except the beard and some areas of the chest layer where it seems a little more abundant. .

6-6.jpg

And finally we see the final result! If the background has been soiled, we clean it with the eraser and ... friends, ready. ^-^

7-7.jpg

I have little time drawing realism, and therefore, beyond the blur and all that roll I wanted to highlight the use of the dry tip method because it can be a good start for beginners when drawing hair and hair that Many times we asked ourselves how to do it.

Data about the animal:

It is the great (and majestic) African kudu antelope, and some of its most amazing physical qualities are its beautiful horns, which has led it to be persecuted on several occasions by man for the traffic of these. With them, they play wind instruments. "Fortunately", the great kudu is an extended species in the south and east of Africa, and thanks to it, we could say that this animal is beyond the reach of being in danger of extinction.

And that's all for now! I hope this post has been of your liking, curiosity and of course, you know useful.
