Panthera Leo (White Charcoal On Black Paper)
Hello Everyone.
I'd like to share this wildlife art I made today which is a drawing of a lion using a white charcoal on black cardboard paper. I decided to make this piece to practice drawing with the new materials I acquired but the reference photo looked quite challenging because of the fur and I almost had to quit the drawing. But, I understood patience was the key to making a drawing look great and outstanding, so I took a huge scoop of my time to create this piece and I wasnt disappointed with the result.
Here are the steps involved in the drawing;
I started the drawing from the eyes and also began adding fur details to the skin.
I continued adding details to the skin and afterwards, I made an outline sketch of the mane.
Finally, I added fur details to the mane and remaining parts of the face until I got a satisfactory result.
I love this piece and I'm definitely gonna be hanging this on my wall.
The reference wildlife photo for this drawing was found on Google with no link/connection to its owner.
Thank you for reading and checking out my art. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
