Unique..!! Carving From The Egg Shell
Unique! Carving from the Egg Shell
Most of us will remove the eggshell after utilizing its contents. But not for this Chinese man, Guys.
While in the art market, I met a Chinese artist, Wen Fuliang, creating an elaborate engraving of egg shells. The result was stunning eyes.
Wen, an artist from Shaanxi Province, previously worked as a woodcarver but after he was fired from his job he switched to making an engraving from an unusual medium, this he did to meet his life needs.
Each of his carved artworks uses chicken eggshells, geese and ducks to carve out interesting places, such as the iconic Dayan Pagoda in Xian. Wen Fuliang has been doing this work for over ten years.
First he drew the design on the eggshell using an electric swivel. However, before she carved out on the eggshell first, Wen emptied the egg from white and yolk using a syringe.
After the eggshell is empty then Wen, can carve it gently. This skilled artist holds the eggshell in one hand and the rotary tool in the other hand slowly makes the complicated design.
This versatile mini carving tool commonly used by artisans carving in various media (stone, wood, plastic, leather, rubber, eggshell, glass etc.)
