[ESP/ENG] El laberinto del minotauro (ilustración y proceso) / The minotaur's labyrinth (illustration and process)
- Buenos días/tardes/noches preciosos viajeros de los paisajes de Steemit. En esta oportunidad, quiero compartir con ustedes mi ilustración más reciente, dentro de la que me ocupé de explorar la textura de la piedra, así como la adherencia del musgo sobre ella; por otra parte, dentro de la misma quise experimentar con la perspectiva lineal, empleando la de tres puntos de fuga (o aérea), con el fin de contribuir a la composición, reforzando la imponencia de una escultura de dimensiones titánicas que alude a un minotauro con observa concienzudo su laberinto.
*Nota: La entrada que están por apreciar no se trata de un tutorial, sino más bien de mis ganas de compartir con ustedes el proceso que llevo a cabo durante mis trabajos, y de esperar que quizá puedan serles útiles de algún modo. Comprendo que es la misma idea de un tutorial, sin embargo, aún con ello, repito, esto no es un tutorial.
Ahora bien, me dispongo a mostrarles el proceso que he llevado a cabo para obtener el resultado que están por observar.
- Good morning / afternoon / evening beautiful travelers of the landscapes of Steemit. On this occasion, I want to share with you my most recent illustration, in which I took care to explore the texture of the stone, as well as the adherence of the moss on it; On the other hand, within the same I wanted to experiment with the linear perspective, using the three points of flight (or air), in order to contribute to the composition, reinforcing the importance of a sculpture of titanic dimensions that alludes to a minotaur with conscientious observation of his labyrinth.
*Note: The entry you are about to appreciate is not about a tutorial, but rather about my desire to share with you the process that I carried out during my work, and to hope that they may be useful in some way. I understand that it is the same idea of a tutorial, however, even with it, I repeat, this is not a tutorial.
Now, I am going to show you the process that I have carried out to obtain the result that you are about to observe.
1.
En primera instancia, tracé un esbozo de la composición en general. Para ello hice uso del lápiz 2B (disponible en el menú desplegable de pinceles, en la categoría sketch)
In the first instance, I drew an outline of the composition in general. To do this I used the 2B pencil (available in the drop-down menu of brushes, in the sketch category)

Seguidamente, añadí una mancha en escala de grises, que me serviría como base para generar la misma.
Next, I added a grayscale stain, which would serve as a basis to generate it.

Comencé a definir la escala de grises, emulando la textura de los diversos elementos. Así, para los mosaicos del suelo empleé una pincelada corta, para simular las irregularidades del mineral. Para la piedra del minotauro utilicé pinceladas más minuciosas, separando el pelaje propiciado por la talla del artífice. Por otra parte, para el explorador opté por acreditarle unas pinceladas más descuidadas que podrían tratarse como manchas, a causa de su diminuta dimensión en contraste con la escultura.
I began to define the gray scale, emulating the texture of the various elements. So, for the mosaics of the soil I used a short brush stroke, to simulate the irregularities of the mineral. For the stone of the minotaur I used more meticulous brushstrokes, separating the fur propitiated by the size of the craftsman. On the other hand, for the explorer I opted to credit him with more careless brush strokes that could be treated as spots, because of their tiny dimension in contrast to the sculpture.

Proseguí ajustando la escala de grises, transformándola en una composición monocromática con predominancia de color rojo-naranja, que más tarde me serviría para matizarla. Para ello presioné en el teclado CTRL+U > croma azul/croma rojo/luma > ajusté las opciones manualmente > OK
I continued adjusting the grayscale, transforming it into a monochromatic composition with a predominance of red-orange color, which later would serve to nuance it. To do this I pressed on the keyboard CTRL + U> chroma blue / chroma red / luma> adjusted the options manually> OK

Añadí los colores planos de la totalidad de los elementos de la composición, separando los colores por capas. Es importante separarlos, pues cada color posee su propia luminosidad, así como reacción a la capa inferior (la de los tonos).
I added the flat colors of all the elements of the composition, separating the colors by layers. It is important to separate them, since each color has its own luminosity, as well as reaction to the lower layer (that of the tones).

Enseguida, añadí una luminiscencia amarillenta, producto de un amanecer.
Next, I added a yellowish luminescence, the product of a sunrise.

Añadí los tonos bajos del minotauro con un color amarillo-naranja.
I added the low tones of the minotaur with a yellow-orange color.

Seguidamente maticé los elementos del pequeño explorador.
Then I matched the elements of the little explorer.

Proseguí generando trazos con un azul agrisado en tono muy alto, en la parte inferior de la composición, con el fin de denotar la altura de la escultura.
I continued generating lines with a blue-gray in a very high tone, in the lower part of the composition, in order to denote the height of the sculpture.

Por último, añadí algunos detalles. Véase algunas enredaderas sobre la escultura, así como grietas con el fin de denotar su antigüedad. Además de aves sobrevolándole.
Finally, I added some details. Like some bindweed on the sculpture, as well as cracks in order to denote their antiquity. In addition to birds flying over it.

I would have thought that it was something similar like Jack and the giant slayer :) It looks like a huge plant and that tiny person is using the hand to see the top better.. but then I saw two horns and understood that this was not the case.
It's a great illustration. The colors and shadows give it a magical flair. I also enjoy reading about how you made this illustration. It's nice to see how you work with the software :)

Te quedo espectaculaaaaar. Naguevona xksdvsjnrb lo ame demasiado... Lo primero que se me vino a la mente fue el videojuego Shadow of colossus. es de playstatio 2.. despues, se me vino a la manta el laberinto del fauno.
me parece agradable que no compartes un tutorial. es mas bien tu proceso creativo y como aplicas tus conocimientos. Es lo mas cercano a verte trabajando. Nos regalas la oportunidad de presenciar como @elsll crea sus obras.

Wow, that is really comprehensive description of your work, like the structure of the post, you explained the aim of it, what triggered you to produce that post and also like the idea. The steps of using the tools of digital art programs made it easy to understand how everything works, because it is so overwhelming once you open up the program and see that variety of tools. Like the scene and you have worked on the details of the stone very well, like that little figure at the bottom who looks up and studying that gigantic stone work.
