Xara Graphics Software - LOADS of features, and FAR Cheaper than Photoshop!
For those who can't afford photoshop (which is a LOT of us!) but who still need graphics, paint and image processing software, perhaps you might look into Xara's stuff to see if they might have what you need? You won't have ALL of the features of photoshop, but they DO support many photoshop plugins...and at a substantially lower price!
They also have a 30-day FREE TRIAL period, so you get to spent a week swearing at the evil sunzabitches who wrote the software because you don't know how it works yet, and then a few weeks more after you start to figure things out. (Well...that's how it worked for me, anyway...)
Check it out. "For now" it's free. "In the long run" it's FAR cheaper than photoshop. Worst case scenario, it'll help you learn image processing and graphics well enough to start earning an income from your talents...so you can eventually afford photoshop. d=O)

Note: An image I made while creating a new web site for a local bike shop, many years ago, with Xara's Photo & Graphic Designer. They didn't use it, because they said "Well, it'd be good for a tire shop..." HOURS wasted...the bastards...so I revised it and used it myself! (I no longer do any work of any kind for "friends", as they tend to stop being that when they screw you over..."because we're friends.")
Anyway, if someone who is NOT an artist can easily create or edit graphics like this, I'm sure someone with REAL TALENT can seriously kill it with this software!
