A disappointing turn of Events
I just learned that my new gig isn’t going to work out with Brodie. He wasn’t clued into the fact that I was hired as a caretaker which I learned right before heading out with him yesterday. In all honesty such poor communication was bound to fail this endeavour and I am glad it happened sooner than later. It would have been a financial game-changer but luckily I never got my hopes up even though I was contemplating opportunity. I feel like this happens a lot to autistic people, they get left out of the conversation altogether by their relatives which makes it even harder to trust outsiders. I wish him all the best for the future while I focus on moving forward.
This is the most impressive painting that I helped Brodie paint as his art teacher back in February 2017.
Here is the same painting at an earlier stage.
I feel like your assessment on autistics is accurate
I'm sorry that this show with Broadie is not a
happening. The colors and shapes are amazing, though. Hoping to see more of them soon.
The paintings I included are from a series of private art classes I taught him which stopped a year ago. The gig that is not going to work out was a assignment to take him out of his home and hang out but after our first session, his mom sent me a message saying that he was uncomfortable with me and did not feel treated as an equal. I’m getting a lot of mixed signals from them so I decided to cut ties altogether. Such is life but it helps to have the support of a friend like you. Thank you!
