Fun With Scrap
FUN WITH SCRAP
Just having some fun with some forks and knives I have collected when i get scrap . Ive always seen faces in things (pareidolia) .. You know , where it has something that you could glue some googly eyes on and it would make a perfect face. Well welding eyes is just as good .
STARTING WITH THIS
The manipulation of metal is the fun part. Its part skill, power and control. You can easily destroy a piece by overpowering it.
LEGS AND FACE
Ill admit that making the legs and head are not the most difficult pieces. Although the angles are paramount so the sculpture does not fall over and looks like its supposed to.
WELDED LEGS
Making the face is where i can make these little guys look quirky. It brings a little light heart to the sculpture. I can tell you one thing , the kids really like quirky ones.
EYES!
Last but not least is the hands. It does take a while to do each one. You can easily destroy a fork by being overly aggressive. Slow steady movements.
HELLO
This is one example of the hundreds I have made. Some of them have hands that hold a tea candle , some hold keys (or whatever you want). Some look like people some more monsters. They are all made from reclaimed pieces. And of course for sale too.
MONSTER

@eclecticfruition
Very cool! I love seeing old things made new again. This takes a lot of patients and vision, very impressive.
Thanks . Since i grew up doing scrap metal I would always come across bizarre shaped metal pieces and when i got a bunch of cutlery, i decided to make these.
