Crafts: Three for One! Knives (Karambit, Cleaver and Kitchen Knife)
Hello Steemians! I'm drawingwithflare!
![Untitled96.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmY1bZbD3Bg3jwGZQXgZRHuWPYeGKpJ7YjzaaarHmm5EBW/Untitled96.jpg)
I'm back and today, I show you not 1, not 2, but 3 miniature creations! They all revolve around 1 theme, which is Knives. So I made a Karambit Knife, A Butcher's Knife/ Cleaver, and a Kitchen Knife.
In this craft, I used 80cw sandpaper, glue and superglue, utility knife, vice, pencil and eraser, Black and Silver paint, clear nail polish, and of course the popsicle sticks.
![20180511_201748.png](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeKmrP91voTr91kdiZxu61agR9LarKVLHniRLGXQCRX3c/20180511_201748.png)
![20180516_232511.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVdXNiWwygAvRZb6z3o3DDNpPY4bGMJnAev6vJ8SrCQ6S/20180516_232511.jpg)
So we will start with the karambit
![20180516_185254.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPfhrwwUoeTDgc2sajrRZQk4zgpcFBsEjivcPcnQnVJqm/20180516_185254.jpg)
So first, I made two popsicle bases (both are 2×2).
![20180516_190319.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQCNsb6f3WT4EoaQ7X2a7CbiizYXE2Faxoks4LKSrd8Dx/20180516_190319.jpg)
After that, I draw the karambit on the popsicle base.
![20180516_190833.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmU8MuSzHhCPjAhBTYxWN9GZNMBsw8vpwLpXrxFAhTGC49/20180516_190833.jpg)
And then, I roughly cut it out from the popsicle base so I can smoothly sand it later.
![20180516_194021.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbny1W8EsJkrPNMAFELuWvfEXpeLKw33ZpQFTkj1bZFsS/20180516_194021.jpg)
And then, I cut and sanded the excess using a Utility Knife and 80cw sandpaper. (Sorry for the quality of this picture, I accidentally deleted the picture with the better quality. Won't do it again)
![20180527_215804.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRMQLSoDgnxE2MRjkHNik8SbaQfBwLxqvwFdL8AnxJHza/20180527_215804.jpg)
Then, I made a hole where you're supposed to put your finger in. Unless your a jacked up rat on steroids then you can hold this karambit.
![20180527_220157.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdsPPJ5KJBomzQV2JvcVyXhCznHz7gvsAkbmrDYSWWd8A/20180527_220157.jpg)
Then I sanded it so it would be thinner than handle.
![20180516_221247.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmfUSmmNtyU6yZXEwbGAomWGR5UaEAL389WUGr3s2RNevY/20180516_221247.jpg)
And then, I did the same thing on the blade.
![20180516_221724.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmX4go249RgyShV3vUpBtwAuxN7cchYjwnBsqoJEdnvEsm/20180516_221724.jpg)
Then, I sharpened the blade.
![20180516_222613.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXm2GfnaWPh3rWXB7ZdNHFb2J2nthUWtKDv6tryEG36Lk/20180516_222613.jpg)
And then, I painted the all the supposed metal parts black.
![20180516_224751.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTgBKzfpfnBhCM96DYhLePF44BJNcgRaAGmqK45T2Rmwv/20180516_224751.jpg)
Then, I also painted the handle with a deep dark gray by adding a drop of white paint onto my black paint.
![20180516_225428.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSzy53TkN8UkDLvjvaMRB2mEUHwrTNgUx86FgnVnRqQAX/20180516_225428.jpg)
And then, I coloured the sharpened part of the blade with silver.
![20180516_230121.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcEXjW9SXW31mBiuT66qCXyRgNUJ4DZMtaDLVrG8YZve5/20180516_230121.jpg)
And that's it done!
![20180527_221051.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUZyjZHxSbe6zRe5BUvkaMAmCFMNEB5LxPMbXzCFbC8YQ/20180527_221051.jpg)
This mini karambit is about a few centimetres less than 2 inch.
![20180511_201748.png](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeKmrP91voTr91kdiZxu61agR9LarKVLHniRLGXQCRX3c/20180511_201748.png)
![20180518_010903.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQvqJm1M98AF3mpeA36qvYPU5V4zxqo6tL5uc6ULAaUrH/20180518_010903.jpg)
Then we move on to the Butcher's knife.
![20180517_165824.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZhGdEWsySKfYoA8DtRnpqRSFHRymvZ5eXk9h8ftApC2V/20180517_165824.jpg)
I started by making a popsicle base that is 3×2
![20180517_172205.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWUmEPZFxaRWKDfE1e8q7vruPrRTkAXa5Swd39T5ndB7x/20180517_172205.jpg)
Then I draw the blade and the handle separately on the base.
![20180517_182417.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQ18bZzkQrVhXonKZnDip47nJc9WJPhTbvhXhscy5YZGh/20180517_182417.jpg)
I cut them out in mini quadrilaterals to make them a little more accessible.
![20180517_201339.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmT8kvTbbNj62hqcKaG6nqVgH7vKpmmQQriTgCTxTA2pno/20180517_201339.jpg)
![20180517_202537.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdULxdBEMZi9psD2U13xvhn98K4abVvaAyP5UXdE5qhUG/20180517_202537.jpg)
Then I used a utility knife and sandpaper to get the blade and handle in the perfect shape.
![20180517_203901.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSdXVuaXBXBbU6xUfTPPfrv8GTVM4BTy44eWhpRGiUzZo/20180517_203901.jpg)
Then I made the connecting piece on the blade a little smaller so it would be easier to get some space out on the handle.
![20180517_205632.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRcUEm4d5CCzW3Di2sP9QYvKKLKjCSuU2apsFVw3MWoR9/20180517_205632.jpg)
Then I made the notches on the handle. As you can see I separated them first so I can glue them with the hole in the middle.
![20180517_220204.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmR4uHY5mCNjDhinhZLpitbHXZ7aSqQ24MtSgA7X4DAPh2/20180517_220204.jpg)
I sanded the blade thin enough to look like a blade, and thick enough to be sturdy and not so fragile.
![20180517_222510.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSzSV4UXcy1crUPMQcm5WGLAFcYnHsbZBV3qukmmXhhvg/20180517_222510.jpg)
The I sharpened the blade.
![20180517_222806.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPFpLWkUVPmX93sxfNMssSdaV92PXHpPunLNFivNwZfpd/20180517_222806.jpg)
Then I stained the handle with my brown paint.
![20180517_231719.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdXW3KL6ibviPg98gKDFQPTePBymPwQv9fLYz8yT4eRHF/20180517_231719.jpg)
I painted the blade silver after that.
![20180517_232033.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQma6zQBcqyG7mPwMwaswJq6M48iJb5sr7Jg5bK925XGcMy/20180517_232033.jpg)
Then I glued the handle to the blade.
I didn't just want this to be just the knife so I made a base for it which is a chopping board.
![PSX_20180527_230708.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbM7anf9TSo7MpFM6sGyBVsghH2z2teewBunnRHbZobU4/PSX_20180527_230708.jpg)
So I took three popsicle sticks, cut them in half, and glued them in a 3×2 popsicle base.
![20180518_000240.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYjUZPfCu2hMQdrj5xbWiVUL3JTKNbtxS6eeWUDrSmuyN/20180518_000240.jpg)
Then I cut a mini rectangle out of it.
![20180518_001401.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeMqhfvqLkyRenE9JwQXTTnFm6xkeE7DTgZDVGaZEBHbk/20180518_001401.jpg)
I didn't want it to have sharpedges, so I cut the edges out.
![20180518_001932.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmX2drqt7NYcPmUX8VRpbcfdyJK1aVSV74wJGz17HJQwYt/20180518_001932.jpg)
Then I rounded them out using some low grade sandpaper.
![20180518_003120.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTryAmXJFgqWDyS9gFYBmQophhupEdvdzS5eKi9wK7BQP/20180518_003120.jpg)
Then I cut a small notch on the chopping board to make way for the knife.
![20180518_004341.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcHsVsWYNZPKg4ZzbNqdeSyvLp7oY3pHL76s2nqpbDhxv/20180518_004341.jpg)
Then I glued the knife onto the chopping board base I made.
![20180518_005349.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZENdKupUu9PPwbW1Urfxyw8kqNz9GJ1wFwMxmFQZSGH6/20180518_005349.jpg)
And I used clear nail polish to get a smooth finish. And that's it done!
![20180527_221005.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXc9h7pzHhv26outQ5SfWLkhPZKLP7mS7t3hdcZFAJCJZ/20180527_221005.jpg)
![20180527_221039.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmX9ppQRdKgHSRafv2FkKeoYwCs9kjeugf6EY63hTdPruJ/20180527_221039.jpg)
It's a little more than 2 inches in length and approximately 1 inch in height.
![20180511_201748.png](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeKmrP91voTr91kdiZxu61agR9LarKVLHniRLGXQCRX3c/20180511_201748.png)
![20180518_224028.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmabWFPyd5ccLUbQDbe93U4z7cA8YX8UibvQHKzTBHPDoR/20180518_224028.jpg)
Then we go onto the Kitchen Knife. So I started by getting one popsicle base for the blade and two popsicles on top of one another for the handle.
![20180518_224629.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSuLQAaAsniDxXsLhR5tjEVR5Zi7n446wMuiNU4yGfwS7/20180518_224629.jpg)
Then I draw the blade and handle onto the popsicle bases.
![20180518_235856.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPMXEHwyKzfoCRaSdP7B2FGkiDAmaTNsyX2kL8wNCLgtm/20180518_235856.jpg)
Then I both cut them out of the bases.
![20180519_001700.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbVLBrhjs8TQCBRvJEec8wj37pEQVFtHK5qQQtfENmXa9/20180519_001700.jpg)
Then I cut the notches for the connecting piece to go onto.
![20180519_002329.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVAiqnXCMmoTrmWbvFJQEJfwWF8SM86eULLZM8hGc7Ndj/20180519_002329.jpg)
And then I sanded the blade as thin as I can without it breaking.
![20180519_003859.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYSwqgi9Gd7z9NQNNGj1Y41CDSvsmuu8dk8hC8FkXnFBF/20180519_003859.jpg)
Then I glued the handles together.
![20180519_004737.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPQthLUACtr228j7XYb6r7ZhoP3MYtARqS9s983q8wVD6/20180519_004737.jpg)
After that, I sharpened the blade.
![20180519_012615.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTwK92DKqtHB5buWomRutXgvps9Uk6CAFtH5WYbGw8Pvj/20180519_012615.jpg)
And I painted it with silver.
![20180519_013222.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRJCgaHRLGZxKFj6aUPyKBkukqvmLBkCMD6nWj1eRVq7C/20180519_013222.jpg)
Then I stained the handle with brown paint mixed with a bit of water.
![20180519_014106.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYJwD7jDCAGfrDQpcmkkgZ7xVMbLXkBLbMS6GambAqnXZ/20180519_014106.jpg)
And then I glued them together finishing the knife.
![20180519_023834.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSXSSn6NuxBDCRuTkheyMQmKMQFRRrGr6sHvhPL7L5ipz/20180519_023834.jpg)
But I'm not contented so I took five small popsicle pieces. Glued four of them by twos and cut the other one in half. I glued the half pieces nearly in the middle.
![20180519_030800.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVCLm74ygcjP9hmHavZaXGvt1LCJeJdo2gWKvouk95csP/20180519_030800.jpg)
Then I cut a diagonal line on the bottom. I also made another piece the same as the two main pieces but with a cut in the middle that the blade can perfectly fit in.
![20180519_032826.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYBYqCA53GHMBtdnB3wjbbcEspzhfYJpBgcnWWes5VECL/20180519_032826.jpg)
So I glued the pieces.
![20180519_033044.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWk27AG6D4hsehj5rCUhN2DMf1NzKbpniZDCFSpCkjmDy/20180519_033044.jpg)
Then I cut another diagonal on the smaller portion of the knife holder to act as a support and not dead weight.
![20180519_033326.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZ2uvtCzKiV5jfbDm1XZRRhha6UeHzcZgJiLzp9kcLozW/20180519_033326.jpg)
And then I cut a small piece of a popsicle that will perfectly fit on the bottom of the knife holder as a smooth surface.
![20180519_034102.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQpoGe8z2fp22X9bKjpzhuhhsuEzt6FNoC1dUXC4rHfw2/20180519_034102.jpg)
And then I used clear nail polish for a smooth finish on both knife and the holder.
![20180519_041251.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmd1v4NWm7KhRthbppgggjNVQh6Dtg7c8WRSnPgF8681L8/20180519_041251.jpg)
And it perfectly fits!
![20180527_220917.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPH6XzvBveuFUy4f6Ub1QAXX9KAGaeANmdm1Q4HiYwY1N/20180527_220917.jpg)

The knife is 2.25 inch long and the holder is 1. 30 inch high.
![20180511_201748.png](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeKmrP91voTr91kdiZxu61agR9LarKVLHniRLGXQCRX3c/20180511_201748.png)
So what do you think? Do you like this format with Three creation at once or the more consistent one per post? I will try to keep it like this but it won't be daily. And also sorry for the lack of content for nearly two weeks. I kinda just took a bit of a break from uploading so sorry about that. So yeah, see you on the next one, Ciao!
Thank you so much! My name has been Flare and Bye!!!
