Artist Spotlight - Sir Arthur Streeton
Hi Steemit
In this post I want to shine the spotlight on a brilliant artist and fellow Australian named Sir Arthur Streeton.
Streeton (8 April 1867 – 1 September 1943) was one of the leading Australian landscape impressionist painters and a member of the Heidelberg School.
He is one of my favorite landscape painters, mostly due to his ability to so accurately portray the Australian landscape. Many of his paintings are in a very high key to indicate the bright Australian sun. This gives his paintings a very harmonious and peaceful feel. You can almost feel the warm summer breeze as you look into his paintings.
Here are some of his beautiful paintings:
Arthur Streeton, At Templestowe, 1889
Arthur Streeton, Australia Felix, 1907
Arthur Streeton, Autumn, 1889
Arthur Streeton, Manly Beach, 1895
Arthur Streeton, Sandridge, 1888
Arthur Streeton, The Purple Noon's Transparent Might, 1895
