Three recent sketches
Today I'm showing you three of my recent sketches. You might remember from previous posts that I make a little sketch a day.
I have been making these daily drawings with a friend for a while now. Every few days we come up with a few prompt words taking some inspiration from Inktober; we make a drawing and then send it via messenger. It's good fun and a way of keeping in touch.
We recently started using size limitation to make sure we were able to fulfil the 'task'. The size we chose was 'credit card size'.
Initially drawing that small was a bit hard, but now I even play with the way I show my drawing (see the 'owl' drawing below).
I tend to do the drawings in the morning and they take about 5 minutes each. Sometimes I use watercolor but generally I just use a couple of coloring pencils or my ink pen (see the 'fox' drawing below).
I appreciate that not all the drawings are successful. I take each one as a problem solving activity. As we use a 'prompt' word, sometimes it is easier to think or to come with a good idea (see the 'apple' picture below).
I'm currently working on 'including some sort of landscape' - this is hard for me, but I try it as a discipline and to force myself to add 'quick details'.
