Este cuadro es el primero en mas de un mes, ya es muy común pasar tanto tiempo sin poder pintar, y contrario a lo que mucha gente puede llegar a pensar, lo intento, sin embargo paso madrugadas enteras frente a la cartulina esperando a que la inspiración y las ideas lleguen, aunque casi nunca lo hacen, sin embargo lo sigo intentando y lo seguiré haciendo hasta que las cosas cambien. El día 25 de mayo en la mañana desperté con la mente hecha un caos, como siempre, solo que esta vez decidí hacer las cosas diferentes, no dejar que la depresión me consumiera e intentar desahogarme pintando. La fotografía original la capture hace un par de meses en casa de el señor que inspiro este proyecto llamado "Los Rostros de mi Pueblo". Tardé todo un día para terminar la pintura, empecé mas o menos a las 6 a.m y terminé a las 3 a.m del siguiente día, trabajé con lápices de colores Prismacolor y bolígrafo.

This painting is the first in more than a month, it is very common to spend so much time without being able to paint, and contrary to what many people may think, I try, however, I spend whole early mornings in front of the cardboard waiting for the inspiration and ideas arrive, although they almost never do it, however I keep trying and I will keep doing it until things change. On May 25 in the morning I woke up with a chaotic mind, as always, only this time I decided to do different things, not let depression consume me and try to vent paint. The original photograph I captured a couple of months ago at the house of the man who inspired this project called "The Faces of my People". It took me a whole day to finish the painting, I started around 6 a.m. and finished at 3 a.m. the next day, I worked with Prismacolor colored pencils and a pen.

La fecha sigue siendo tentativa, algunas de las personas que apoyaban este proyecto se retiraron, y el grupo que me acompañaba a las labores sociales terminó separándose, así que tuve que continuar yo solo, supongo que tardaré un poco mas, aunque no tengo ninguna intención de abandonar este proyecto.

The date is still tentative, some of the people who supported this project withdrew, and the group that accompanied me to the social tasks ended up separating, so I had to continue on my own, I guess it will take a little longer, although I have no intention to abandon this project.

Esta obra fue pensada originalmente para ser dibujada solo a lápiz, esta sería una obra como las de antaño, a blanco y negro como las del inicio de mi carrera como artista, sin embargo cuando el boceto estuvo listo sentí que debía contener color, de esta manera sería mas expresivo. Comencé pintando el sombrero, usando color crema, blanco negro, gris, marrón y siena, ya que no tenía ningún apuro, trabajé con bastante paciencia, a paso lento, no me fijé en el tiempo, las sombras del sombrero son bastante sutiles así que aplique el color gris de una manera muy tenue y luego mezclé el color con un toque de blanco. el segundo paso fue pintar el rostro, para esto usé colores café siena, durazno, marrón, tan, terracota, negro, y blanco además de usar el bolígrafo para las sombras mas oscuras y las arrugas de la piel. Pintar los ojos fue muy difícil, el espacio era muy pequeño, la iluminación era mala y mi vista estaba cansada, aunque el resultado fue bastante bueno según mi opinión.

This work was originally designed to be drawn only in pencil, this would be a work like those of yesteryear, black and white as the beginning of my career as an artist, however when the sketch was ready I felt that it should contain color, of this way it would be more expressive. I started painting the hat, using cream, white black, gray, brown and sienna, since I was not in any hurry, I worked with enough patience, at a slow pace, I did not notice the time, the hat shades are quite subtle so I applied the gray color in a very faint way and then mixed the color with a touch of white. the second step was to paint the face, for this I used sienna, peach, brown, tan, terracotta, black, and white coffee colors as well as using the pen for darker shadows and wrinkles on the skin. Painting the eyes was very difficult, the space was very small, the lighting was bad and my eyesight was tired, although the result was quite good in my opinion.

El abrigo, tiene un color verde oscuro, con algunas zonas tenues de iluminación, en esta zona tardé solo un par de horas, aunque fue bastante complicado encontrar el equilibrio de las tonalidades del color, sobre el color verde aplique una capa de color negro, y en las zonas de brillo use color blanco.

The coat has a dark green color, with some dim areas of illumination, in this area it took only a couple of hours, although it was quite difficult to find the balance of the color tones, on the green color apply a black layer, and in the areas of brightness use white color.

El color beige de los pantalones fue un poco complicado de encontrar, es una mezcla de café oscuro, tan y blanco, y no solo se trató de mezclar el color correctamente, sino que también debía marcar la textura, luces y sombras. el fondo fue la última parte de este trabajo, tardé unos 30 minutos en terminarlo, para las zonas mas suaves apliqué el polvo de los lápices de colores con un algodón, y así di por terminada esta pintura que marca el fin de un mes de completo de ausencia.

The beige color of the pants was a bit complicated to find, it is a mixture of dark, tan and white coffee, and not only was the color mixed correctly, but it also had to mark the texture, lights and shadows. the background was the last part of this work, I took about 30 minutes to finish it, for the softer areas I applied the powder of the colored pencils with a cotton ball, and thus I ended this painting that marks the end of a month of complete of absence.
