Yes quite a few times I've had that fear.

I think it's quite normal to have this feeling, because we live in a world where most people think of themselves and not of others.

I came to realize however, that respect is earned not forced upon.

If we are doing our best to improve ourselves, and being the best in whatever we are doing, gradually we will earn the respect of the people around us.
