Art - 2145 Future city streets

in #art6 years ago

Hey steemo'ss!!

I don't have an inktober ready yet.. I was busy working on a piece i got commissioned to do for 'Stakenet' which is also a cryptocurrency.

They recently partnered with a Crypto magazine and to celebrate it, they wanted me to make some art for it.

I create some concept-art like piece for them involving a busy street.
I rarely get to create this kind of stuff for the 'public',, most of the time when i get to do this, it is for a production and it will never see the light of day :D

So it is quite unusual I get to share this art-style.

Let me know what you think :)

Thank you again for the support, i'll try to get another inktober out today!

Cheers!

I think this is future @beekart. And you see it well :)

haah.. it is disturbing where we are heading :(

hope we can steer this ship the other way before we end like that.

I've often thought about world-building, even when its just for something like a illustration such as yours.

Do displays matter in the future? Are we networked in such a way that external stimuli isn't as emphasized? Do streets even exist outside of walkways? Would we even need them with autonomous vehicles?

Just a bunch of branching thoughts all layered on the base assumptions of what a society would look like far into the future. I like your illustration, and it inspires forking paths of thought and conjecture.

I recall a promotional poster that was done for "Cyberpunk 2077" in the early beta-phase. There was a cop holding a weapon, pointing it a female android that had extended blades from her arms.

In the background, there's a fire escape, with a ladder that could extend to the sidewalk. It was odd, and threw me a bit on the whole premise. Bits of history stick around and are propagated into the future, but somehow I couldn't make the leap that 1900's era fire escapes would be part of a futuristic cityscape.

Great work, and please keep sharing your extrapolations of the future.

I love the blue glow of the city and for some reason it makes me think of the serial experiments Lane, which I really loved.

Thanks donna! :) glad you like it, i dont know that Lane :O but.. cool! haha

What i think? I wish i could paint like that. Pure cyberpunk vibe. Great stuff

Thanks, its a technique called photobashing which is used alot in movies and games. It's quite tricky to do right tho, but you can get at a cool look quite fast when done right :)

Quite wonderful! How long does it take you to do a piece like that? They must have loved it!

Thank you, this took about 1 day :) they sure did!

Really! I'm even more impressed!

Ohhh I love these kind of art, futuristic dystopian sci fi scenes are really pretty.

All those artificial multi coloured lighting, the blares of corporations logos lording over the throng of faceless mass, you channel all the right elements, Rogier ^_^.

Thank you @scrawly glad you like it! its always tricky to set up such a busy 'scream for attention' scene and still try point to a message :D

This is an awesome piece of concept work :D love it!!

thanks niko! :) Glad you like it!
