THE DENTAL NURSE

Courtly cusp was not too adverse,
To have a date with a dental nurse.
The very first date, it was a peck on the cheek,
Courtly thought this somewhat unique.
The following date saw a kiss on the lips,
He thought it best not to bet all his chips,
On the dates of an earlier nature,
Given that the nurse had some stature.
Sally Drillbit, for that is her name,
Wanted to tell him he was not free from blame,
For the halitosis which cloyed his face,
It was disgusting, a real disgrace.
“Do you have a programme of dental hygiene?”
“Your breath certainly does not smell at all clean.”

Now Courtly had a very thick skin.
He couldn’t believe that his breath was a sin!
He wondered if he should shout,
“Don’t come near me, you might pass out!”
The very next date, Sally thought it the last.
She thought it was time to give Courtly a blast!
“I don’t want to be kissing you,”
“So I’ve brought some nice dental glue.”
“You really are a smelly slob,”
“So I’m going to glue up your gob.”
She pushed the glue tube between his teeth,
Saying, “This treatment to you I bequeath.”
She then offered him a glass of wine,
Saying, “Now rinse, you’re feeling fine.”
She added, “I want you to come up champs!”
“So I’m now going to fit jaw clamps.”

Courtly then thought, “This could be a real winner,”
“For I won’t have to pay for dinner,”
Of course conversing didn’t come easily,
Because his jaws couldn’t swing free.
But then he had a sensation in the brain,
Because she’d slipped him Novocaine.
Courtly thought, “There’s simply nothing worse,”
“Than to date a robust dental nurse!”
