My art: ink botanical collection #1

in #art7 years ago (edited)

One day I wanted to draw plants.
I approached this matter extremely fanatically. I wrote a list of more than 60 plants which came to my mind and decided to sketch them all :)

In the process, I have expanded my botanical knowledge with new interesting things. I learned that crocus and saffron are one and the same. Oregano is almost the same as marjoram. And Tulsi (this is not a very famous plant in the Western world, but very well known in India as tea) is a kind of balsam. Well, and many other amusing botanical nuances.

Now I have almost finished my plants list :) For hours and hours, I was drawing different leaves and flowers. And it was very interesting to find structure differences between different plants, especially when they belong to one family but of course has individuality. Today I will show only a few of my illustrations. But later I will dedicate more posts to this theme and try to make a video of how I create drawing in this style.

These are brilliant! If you could post some videos of your process that would be amazing. I have to show these to my daughter, she's an artist with a sense of style like yourself, she would love these and be inspired by you! Following! Looking forward to more :)

Your words really inspire me! Thanks a lot. I have never before made the video with my drawings. But i want to try )) Always interesting to try something new, especially reading so kind comments )

Love it - Great lines.

I am very happy that you wrote about tulsi, in india we use tulsi as medicine also. And it is worshipped like any other GOD in hindu families it is called tulsi ma(mother).

It is a great addition from you. I have tried tulsi in India like just a tea and love it for its excellent taste. I very miss in Russia for tulsi, because here it isn't sold. Next time when I go to India I will buy there reserve of tulsi for the future )))
And my portrait of tulsi (I don't really now how similar it turned out, because I drew without the holy model):

Take some seeds of tulsi and grow it into your garden or even on pots. It requires less care and gives more and more.

Hmm... It is a good advice. I didn't think about this opportunity before. Thanks!

Welcome dear.

Lovely studies...what fun!

That looks like a lot of work! I also made lots of paper flowers some time ago, using lots of different techniques, and got immediately obsessed with them. It's probably a girl thing? :-D Keep up with the drawings :)

haha )) May be )) But boys also have obsessions in art )) May be the film "Whiplash" by Damien Chazelle is not right about this thing, but anyway it's a good strong story about creative obsession with a boy like a main hero :)

We probably all have our own obsessions :) I personally went to great lengths with it. First started with some flower drawings, then paper flowers, and now I have a whole goddamn garden out of nowhere :-D I wonder what's next haha :) I'll check that movie, thanks!

Amazing art @awispa upvote and followed :)

Your illustrations are amazing, would love to see more of them! Maybe you should dedicate a daily post to them for 60 days :-)

Thank you! Daily post I think it too much for me ))) But one post in 2 day I will try ))

Looking forward to it!
