Fractal Explorations and Explanations.
"We are not artists. We do not create these things, we discover them, hiding in the cracks between numbers. We are explorers. We are photographers and cartographers of infinite landscapes." - Me.
When I first started posting these images it became apparent that a lot of people thought that I had somehow dreamed up these things. My reaction was something like "Good lord I hope not! I wasn't planning on going giggling mad for at least… I'm far to busy for that right now, maybe later." But the truth is that there is construction going on, and direction, so I'd like to show you something I "discovered" recently.
When I got the call to do a vid for one of the tracks off Avalon's new album I knew I wanted to do something unique, something that had never been seen before. "I know!" I said to myself, "I'll try using the entire Kali Amazing Box mod fractal as a base shape for the Pseudo-Kleinian set!" to which I replied "That's a really stupid idea, for sure nobody's ever done that before. Great!". And now the explanation.
"In mathematics, a Kleinian group is a discrete subgroup of PSL(2, C). The group PSL(2, C) of 2 by 2 complex matrices of determinant 1 modulo its center has several natural representations: as conformal transformations of the Riemann sphere something something oranges something...."
Sure… Anyways, the pseudo-Kleininan set (coded by Knighty for Fragmentarium) looks like this in its basic form.
We can gaudy it up a bit by combining it with other shapes. For example, when we use a basic box, we get crystal formations.
So what do we get when we merge it with the Kali set, the set that gave us psychedelic fish weirdo up there? Texture!
Psychedelic jewelled crustaceans, wonderful!
