My comfort zone / Original painting in mixed technique

in #art6 years ago

As the title says, my comfort zone is... To be sitting on a rock on the shores of the sea under a plant that provides shade, and with it, enjoy the salty aroma, the little animals that my eyes can see. And how perfect nature is in its asymmetry.

That is the image that goes through my head every time I need to calm down, relax and let those emotions settle down. And that is why I decided to share this with the best thing to do, Drawing! For this, I decided to use a mixed technique, resulting from the combination of different techniques and pigments, that is, combining the ink with the watercolors, giving as a result, the combination of the Oriental technique with the Western one.

Being a drawing of my authorship, I don't used images and other people's works to create this painting. What I could tell you, are the materials that I used during the whole process of the work.

These materials are the following:

  • Chinese ink of black color.
  • Especial brushes to work with ink.
  • Watercolors in pill of various colors. Normal brushes for painting.
  • Containers with water to dilute the watercolors.

Painting process:

I started by painting the rocks present on the seashore, with Chinese ink for the outline and shadows, and watercolors for the color of the rocks and sand in the vicinity of the water.

Then with only blue watercolor, I painted the closest part of the sea to the rocks.

Afterwards, I proceeded to paint with brushstrokes of Chinese ink the bamboos that stand out in the middle of such a calm landscape. Therefore, with green watercolor, I painted the bamboos to give them color and highlight areas where there is only darkness.

In this step, I continued painting the sea that I had previously predisposed to start, with watercolor brush strokes of the same tone. Thus delimiting the dividing line that exists between the sea and the sky.

After having painted the sea, I proceeded to paint the sky with just watercolor gouache, with a shade of blue darker and more colorful than the sea.

Finally, I painted the leaves of the bamboo with brush strokes of green watercolor, and Chinese ink for the branches that support them.

Finish the drawing by adding some small seedlings near the water, as well as signing the painting.
