Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review (by @antminer)
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Three days ago my friends and I have decided to watch The Last Jedi movie. Since I loved Force Awakens and some things that have not been cleared out in that movie I thought that this part will answer this questions. I had a lot of expectations for this one and my squad was so hyped to see it.
The Last Jedi Plot
Movie starts immediately after the ending of Force Awakens and intro was huge space battle between The Resistance and First Order. The space battle was really awesome to see and CGI was very cool as expected. Rey is trying to convince Luke Skywalker to train her so she can become the Jedi Knight, but Luke is refusing to train here because he has trained Kylo Ren and he found out that there is a dark force in him.
The Resistance and First Order are in constant battle in space since First Order found the way to track The Resistance ships while going through hyperspace. The Resistance is losing their energy to protect them selfs with shields so they need to find a way to escape. Finn and Rose left the mothership to seek a hacker DJ on Canto Bight planet who could disable the device that First Order is using to track through Hyperspace.
Rey convinces Luke to train her to become the Jedi Knight and she begins to learn the ways of the force. For some reason, she is connected to Kylo Ren and they can speak to each other even if they are on different planets. Rey sees that there is conflict in Kylo Ren and that there is still good in him so she decides to find him and help him. After lending on First Order ship Kylo took her to supreme leader Snoke, who reveals that he made the mental connection between two of them to trick Rey into trying to help Kylo, which will give him a chance to locate Luke Skywalker. Kylo instead of killing Rey, kills his master, Snoke. Kylo makes an offer to Ray to rule a galaxy with him, which she refuses.
Leia is s recovered from near death experience where she was out of the spaceship and somehow managed to get back on the ship by force. First Order is winning in space battle so The Resistance are evacuating to nearby planet Crait and Holdo stays on mothership trying to mislead First Order fleet. Hacker DJ tricked Rose and Finn and reveals plans for evacuation to First Order.
The First Order is landing on Crait with army and rebels are inside a cave to protect them selfs easily. After the big battle, Luke Skywalker appears and Kylo orders open fire with all forces on Luke alone, but somehow Luke not died. Meanwhile, rest of rebel forces are escaping from the planet with help of Rey. Kylo confronts Luke Skywalker and he finds out that Luke has projected himself with the force only to distract him from rebel forces to escape. After his use of force projection, Luke Skywalker dies as one with the force.
My View On The Last Jedi
After watching Force Awaken I was so excited for next Star Wars movies and I had high expectations since I really liked the Force Awakens. What I was most excited about is Kylo Ren and supreme leader Snoke characters since I have always loved Sith culture.
What I did not like about this movie is how the Snoke is portrayed in The Last Jedi since I thought there will be more behind this character that had huge buildup in Force Awakens. I have not learned anything from him in The Last Jedi, aside he is the bad guy that wants to rule the galaxy and that he is not that powerful since Kylo Ren killed him in 1 second. I am hoping that there will more story about him in next movie...
Also, in the Force Awakens, there was a story about Rey's parents and I thought that her parents were important people in the galaxy but no...they were just two drunks that left her. I am also hoping that there will be another story about Rey's parents in next movie...
What I liked the most about this movie are CGI and really great humor on few occasions.
Humor was in sometimes good sometimes not so much. There were few hilarious scenes like one on the beginning when Poe makes fun of First Order general.
Music was really great and it felt like Star Wars but I did not pay much attention to the music so I will just listen to it alone in future to see if it stands out.
Acting was alright, there were some characters that were above others but in general, it was watchable.
CGI was on the point, but there were some effects that were not so great but I think that they are made that way purposely.
For me, this movie was fun to watch just because it is Star Wars movie and I have feelings for Star Wars Universe, but in general I don't think I will watch this movie multiple times like I did other Star Wars movies.
Would rate it: 7/10

Personally, I loved the Last Jedi, it had lots of spine tingling moments, there was a nostalgic nod to the original trilogy and cast, plus I feel it was littered with clues that will all be revealed in episode 9. Nice review though, very honest viewpoint 😉👍🏻
What about Force Awakens? Did you like that movie?
Thank you for kind words :)
Yeah i liked the Force Awakens, it was a nice introduction movie for the new characters. But the Last Jedi is the movie that sets the new characters free from the original story of the Skywalker’s. I can’t wait for Ep9.
Yeep. Looking forward to see ep9, so exciteed :D :D
Also the thing that Kylo said to Rey about her parents is all a lie. Basically he’s seen her future and has seen how powerful she’ll become, so he tells her that she’s nothing and her parents left her for drink money, this is to make her feel vulnerable and therefore join Kylo. But she doesn’t take the bait.
Well I hope so, there was buildup to this story about his parents it would be kind of stupid to just make them drunk parents :D
