How to start painting - part1
Don’t worry, this isn’t a gardening post :) Sometimes I just need to get out and spend some time in nature. I love the green surroundings and fresh air. I am glad that I live in a country that has lots of that. Being outside, away from computer work is a true blessing nowadays. For me is a way to refocus, put my mind to the right place and also an inspiration for my artworks.
When I was a little girl, I spent most of the time outside, I knew the names of all flowers and I collected snails, frogs, butterflies, caterpillars and brought them home as my new pets. Nowadays I mostly collect flowers, sometimes dry them or use it as an inspiration for painting. Do you want to know, how that works for me?
It goes something like this….
You can always find inspiration and images on the web, but I think it is a lot better and enjoyable to go out, for a walk, discovering nature, observing the surroundings and collect some plants or anything else that inspires you with its color, texture, shape. Below you can see the process.
In the beginning, I made a colorful background. The colors and pattern come from purple flowers that I found in the woods.
Then I sketched some organic shapes with white crayon.
I used acrylic colors and completed the sketch.
I contributed in many art workshops and the thing that always fascinated me was the interpretation of each artist working on the same task. Although we had exactly the same instructions, the variety of final artworks was amazing :) So I am curious how all that I collected, would take place in your creations.
Everything mentioned above can be just a start of your art process. It is not necessary to look anything like collected items at the end. It can be something totally different. The point is that you start and see, where it gets you. Let yourself to express and find your inner artist.
Very cool.. I like your post very :) I hope you collect other things too.
You try to go to some abandoned house and find something old :)
I rather make than collect things :) Thanks for the reply
