Tips and How to Draw 3 Dimensions Using Pencil

If you are one who is learning to draw and that too is self-taught. Constraints when learning self-taught is the absence of people who give direction to us directly, making it difficult to improvise what we already know.

We will unconsciously commit the same mistake and for a long time too.

In this post I will share some drawing tips, as well as some mistakes in the drawing that we have to fix and as much as possible to avoid the pencil drawings we make look real.

1. Pay attention to the little things

Check your work carefully before you move on to the next stage. Watch carefully whether there is a shortage or not? If you realize there are many mistakes in your work, do not ever try to fix it all at once.

But focus on one of the mistakes you think is the most fatal and fix it as soon as possible, to cover the other mistakes.

2. Make sure the lighting is sufficient

When drawing make sure that you are in a place with sufficient lighting. If you draw with your right hand, the light must come from the left, so that the shadow does not fall on the paper in front of the pencil that can interfere with your drawing process.

3. Pay attention to cleanliness

At the time of drawing, you should use a base for the part of the hand that will roughly touch the paper, you can use a tissue or other paper.

It is intended that your hand does not contaminate the paper. Do not think that after washing your hands, then your hands will not contaminate the paper. try too, if you draw, start from left first.

4. Make sure your pencils are always pointed

The paper, actually has an uneven and jagged surface. If your pencil is blunt, then the result will not be uniform when you use to sharpen.

5. Do not be afraid to draw black

If you are too afraid to give a touch of dark color, it will limit the range value on the image. The result will not be so realistic and we do not realize that it will limit the deepening of the image model.

6. Outline is not a thick dividing line

Before shading we will definitely make an outline first! Keep in mind that the outline for realistic images is not a thick border line, but the outline is generated from the difference in value. If you give a thick outline, then the resulting image will be more inclined to the cartoon is not realistic.

7. Create a value

Do not force to create a variety of values, but use only one kind of pencil. Especially to make the value dark with pencil H, HB and 2B. Never push the pencil or thicken the shading to create a dark value, because that is not the right way and will only damage the layers of paper.

8. Patient

When drawing, patience is very important, if you want good results. If you are in a hurry the results will be the opposite. Remember do not ever think to immediately complete all the parts, but finish well starting from the small part.
