Helloooo there! hope everyone is ready for an exciting weekend, i'm sure i am. Today i'll be attending an anime sort of otaku culture convention and i hope that in this occasion i can spot some more awesome and beautiful graffiti paintings that decorate many of the walls of Caracas city, as i said on a previous post i'll be showing some of that with pictures i take with my phone, for real graffiti culture and art is spreaded all over this town, especially here in my neighborhood there are so many of them, but first let's just be clear on ¿what is this culture all about and where did it came from?

Basically it's an artistic expression that is made on any wall with or without permission and done within the public view, Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings and it's actually been a customary of humankind since ancient times and cultures like the: Egyptians, Greeks and the Romans. Now day's it's common that spray painting and markers are used to elaborate such works and it can be a controversial topic since as i just said artists can affect private property by placing their marks, tags or designs on walls without permission, in this case it would be considered an act of vandalism and in many countries it could be punished by the law, apparently it was also used by street gangs in cities around the world to mark their territories, although when it's done with permission and the intention to communicate, inspire and decorate it can be a very positive outlook, in my opinion streets seem much more alive when they're full of color and delightful images, as you'll see in these next examples. What do you think about graffitis? art of vandalism?

Holaaas! Espero que todos estén listos para un fin de semana emocionante, estoy seguro que yo si. Hoy asistiré a una especie de convención de cultura otaku y anime y espero que en esta ocasión pueda ver mas graffitis impresionantes y hermosos que decoran muchas de las paredes de la ciudad de Caracas, como dije en una publicación anterior, mostraré algo de eso con las fotos que tomo con mi teléfono, de verdad, la cultura del graffiti y el arte se extienden por toda esta ciudad, especialmente aquí en mi vecindario, hay muchos de ellos, pero primero aclaremos; ¿Qué es esta cultura y de dónde vino?.

Básicamente es una expresión artística que se hace en cualquier pared con o sin permiso y se hace dentro de la vista pública, el graffiti abarca desde simples palabras escritas hasta elaborados murales y en realidad ha sido una costumbre de la humanidad desde tiempos antiguos y culturas como: los egipcios, griegos y romanos. Hoy en día es común que se usen pintura en aerosol y marcadores para elaborar tales trabajos y puede ser un tema controvertido ya que, como acabo de decir, los artistas pueden afectar la propiedad privada al colocar sus marcas, etiquetas o diseños en las paredes sin permiso, en este caso sería considerado un acto de vandalismo y en muchos países podría ser castigado por la ley, aparentemente también fue utilizado por pandillas callejeras en ciudades de todo el mundo para marcar sus territorios, aunque cuando se hace con permiso y la intención de comunicarse, inspirar y decorar puede tener una perspectiva muy positiva, en mi opinión, las calles parecen mucho más vivas cuando están llenas de color e imágenes encantadoras, como verás en los siguientes ejemplos. Que piensan de los grafitis, arte o vandalismo?

this one is fantastic as well, it is located just outside a subway station known as Ciudad Universitaria which is right next to Universidad Central, it is a subway related design using the colors of the Metro de Caracas company, coincidentally those are some of the colors of the rastafarian culture / este tambien es fantastico, está posicionado justo afuera de la estación del metro conocida como Ciudad Universitaria la cual está justo al lado de la Universidad Central, el diseño se relaciona con el metro y usa los colores de la compañía que coincidencialmente son también algunos de los colores de la cultura rastafari

this is the other part of the previous one which is painted on the wall besides, you can see the name of the artist as his instagram account, i also love the detail of the eyes at the far right / esta es la otra parte del anterior el cual está pintando en la pared continua, pueden ver el nombre del artista como su cuenta de instagram, también me encanta el detalle de los ojos en la lejana parte derecha
