Don't Go Near the Water

Simple and cliché, I know, but it was fun to write =).

What if fish could scream and cry
When plucked from waters deep?
Would you still stare them eye to eye
And rob them of their sleep?

And what if creatures from the stars
Arrived outside your home?
And poking through your cheeks left scars
Could you still happ'ly roam?

For on this dirt we have been placed
and in her debt we stand
when without reason, life's erased
We bite our feeding hand
