The Eight Pointed Stars symbol has emerged in the expression of Acehnese art in the Middle Ages, the most dominant one where we find it on the gravestone carvings of the Aceh Darussalam period in various forms of enrichment, the rest can also be found in manuscripts and building architecture. This symbol belongs to a spiritual tradition of various cultures around the world.

In addition to spiritual discussions, Eight Pointed Stars is also a discussion of science, mathematics, and astronomy is the inherent part thereof.

In general, an octagram is any self-intersecting octagon (8-sided polygon). The regular octagram is labeled by the Schläfli symbol {8/3}, which means an 8-sided star, connected by every third point. [1]

The roots of the eight-point star symbol are in early astronomy. The eight lines are symbolic of the four corners of space (north, south, east, and west) and time (two solstices and two equinoxes). [2]

The Eight Pointed Stars also referred to as the khatim or khatim-sulayman, meaning "seal of the prophets". This use of the star is likely related to earlier appearances of six-pointed star in Judaic designs, which are referred to as the "seal of Soloman". [3]

My interest in science has tortured me, want to go beyond it but has no basis at all. I am not a mathematician, I do not even understand mathematical formulas, I'm also not an astronomer and astrologer. After trying to read some references. Apparently, Eight Pointed Stars that are loaded on archeology objects, especially the Acehnese tombstones of Aceh Darussalam is a problem that is difficult to be solved by people who have no knowledge base about it.

But at least I began to understand if this is an easy job that my ancestors had passed through in ancient times, when their civilization about 500 years ago was higher than the ability of Acehnese society in modern times. 😟

Are you confused by this discussion ?, I have to confess, I'm getting confused again, even what I write is not understood at all, LOL ... 😇

Did not accept questions for this post 😓.

Terima kasih @vannour

Hi... Nothing should be confused. Even if we can't find the meaning of the symbol. Just think about artistic side. It is a beautiful symbol. Aceh always has art value in many thing. I think...

I understand this. If you love humanity, keep showing the world love by doing the best in what will fetch this world a better place to live.
