CETINJSKA PECINA

There is a lot of unknown caves in Montenegro and now we know about 1600 caves. Cave "Cetinjska pecina" is located next to the monastery and there is a lot of stories about this cave. One story is that priests were running through cave during the Turkish occupation and that cave exit is in place Crnojevica River, next to the Cetinje(about 15km).

After 300m, there are 2 ways, on the left side is the way up and exit is on the top of the hill above monastery but right side where we saw stairs that way goes by the legend to place Crnojevica River. That legend might be true because it really goes in direction of Crnojevica River but ofcourse it can't be proof... Our government announced the exploration and restoration of this cave but nothing happens... I really hope that it will change in near future...

In 1986, Cetinje was flooded during big rains and snow melting and I found an old picture where you can see big pressure of water is going from the cave... It was the biggest natural disaster that happens in Cetinje a lot of people was evacuated.

So, let's continue cave journey :)...Then we decided to explore a way to the Crnojevica River(by the legend), we pass another 700-800m and we saw a lot of weirdly designed stones and a lot of bets. After more 100-150m we saw shifting sand and we decided to go back because we didn't have any kind of protection.
Under I will show you video and some photos of entering the cave and mysterious way by legend to the Crnojevica River.

I will definitely come back to explore this cave to the end... And way continues on...

So, if the story is true this is the map, next time I will come with more info I promise :) Also, this is 16km overground and we expect about 16-20km underground... Hope that we will find out soon ;)

And we decided to go back to another way which goes uphill above the monastery... Above, you can see the exit of the cave on the hill and under is the video. Also, I will tell you something about the monastery and show you some photos and the area in front of the monastery.

The Cetinje Monastery is a Montenegrin Orthodox Church monastery in Montenegro. It is located in Cetinje and is the seat of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and its name derives from Saint Peter of Cetinje. The medieval Cetinje Monastery, also known as the Old Cetinje Monastery, was built by Ivan Crnojević in 1484, and founded on 4 January 1485, at Ćipur, and dedicated to the birth of the Virgin Mary. During his stay in Ancona, Crnojević was inspired by Basilica della Santa Casa in Loreto where he took an oath that he will build a church also dedicated to Virgin Mary upon his return in Zeta(ex-name for Montenegro).

And that's it for now :) Hope that you will like it, and hope that someone read this xD
Bye, until next time ;)
