HOW TO: Making a DIY AQUAPONICS SYSTEM (INDOORS SETUP) | TonyTanks
As a long time fish keeper, the idea of using fish waste to grow something always fascinated me and one day I got the idea of building an aquaponics system that could easily be placed indoors and look good.
I decided to use goldfish because of the amount of waste they produce which will be an excellent nutrient source for the plants I will be growing. For the start of this project I have decided to use Golden Pothos for 3 reasons. First because I haven't found a place where I can place this setup that will receive good sunlight during the day and Golden Pothos is an excellent plant for low light conditions, second because in general its an amazing plant to use as an aquarium filter and will effectively do its purpose of cleaning the goldfish waste, and third because it is an easy plant to maintain. The medium I am using for the plants is Hydroton or clay pebbles which provides excellent aeration, is eco-friendly, reusable and easy to use.
HAPPY AQUASCAPING!
Love this setup! I had something similar setup but for outdoor use for peppers. Hurricane knocked off my little peppers sadly. They got to maybe the size of my thumb
