RE: What app do you use to create Steem?

in #apps8 years ago

I use Steemit's "Submit s Story". It saves what you have written fairly well. It only failed me once. They were probably doing a software update. If you use something else, you are opening yourself up to problems.

Learn Markdown, the Steemit system is based on that and that is most of what you will be able to do. There are a few HTML tricks like

<center>whatever you want to center</center>

you can use, but they are few and you are on your own there.

Sort:

bold, italic, img, div, images display from url's all work. I think & sequences maybe a qwertyuiop (nbsp) and like > from gt:

&gt; &nbsp;

<img src="https://bla.png" /> <b></b>

etc

oh and headers

<h1></h1>
<h3></h3>

I should write a manual.

I had problems adding pictures to my short stories and poems using Steemit.com. With esteem it's easier to add pictures but sometimes I can't see the written words. The good news is I'm learning to be more adaptable and patient. Thanks for the insight.

Steem on!

I had the same problem at first, and I'm an experienced computer guy. The Steemit editor has limitations and hopefully one day we will have a sophisticated submission system. You'll get used to it with a little practice. It is just the way it is in modern writing. In the old days it was spilling the inkwell on your clothes and then it was used-up typewriter ribbons, messy carbon paper and smelly mimeograph fluid. You get used to the process.

Great analogies! Steem on!

Oh, and one more thing. You can't just switch back and forth between Editor and Markdown when you do "Submit a Story." It can goof things up. Use one or the other to be safe. I learned that the hard way after hours of suffering. Why didn't I chose an easier career like undertaker or goat herder?
