The One True Match - Lightpainting Creativity
The One True Match.
After my match head shot the other day (below) I have been thinking of other ways to include them in this 366 project. This idea popped in my head, so once I'd finished my tea I got my thinking cap on for the set up.
I made a snake out of blue tac and made a circle out of it. I stuck matches all the way around then I placed a blob of it on the matchbox in the middle of the circle. I stuck "King" match on that and framed up. I wanted to be looking up at the one in the middle to give it a sense of grandeur so I got as low as I could with the camera.
1 x LP Brushes blue filter behind and blew vape all around. I let that "burn" in for about 5 seconds and replaced the lens cap. I then swapped the filter to the orange one, removed the lens cap again and side lit the matches before replacing the lens cap again. Finally I lit the King about 20mm from the top with a lighter and let the top set alight before removing the lens cap for a final time and ending the exposure after about 3 seconds of burn.
Pretty happy with how this came out and I'm looking forward to putting all the burnt matches to use in a future shot.
Last weeks match head macro shot :)
