On Edge - Winnats Pass - Peak District Night photography.
On Edge.
I'm just back from a near perfect night out in the hills. Peace, quiet and a little solitude to re-set the soul and relax.
I looked out of the back door at home and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, no wind and the moon was bright. That was all I needed to know to get off my backside and head out of the other door for the hills.
I took loads of shots tonight but this one came out the best. I just love the soft light from the moon, the way it highlights the contours of the pass is beautiful. There is something special about moonlight and the way it caresses the land.
My new lens definitely needs stopping down to get the most from it but it knocks the sock off anything I have used before. I love it. I also can't wait for Milky Way season to return and some adventures to some dark sky areas.
4 long exposure shot pano stitched in Lightroom with some global and spot adjustments.

Here are another couple from tonight's beautiful trip.
I hope you enjoyed looking as much as I did being out there trying my best to capture the beauty.
Happy days.

Cool, great to make the effort and definitely worth it. Hope the sheep eggs weren't too abundant! 💩🐑🐏😀
Cheers pal. They were far more manageable due to the fact they were frozen 😂
The sheep or the eggs? 💩😀
Superb location and an exquisite view buddy

It's a proper tidy spot mate as is this whole area. Lots of beauty in one place. Cheers dude.
