Check your email at the same time every day

This is a task you can do at whatever time of day is best for you, some people may prefer to look through their emails as soon as they start work for the day as a simple task to get started with. The reason why you should get it done at the same time every day is because it gives you a somewhat familiar routine for you to follow.

Do not look at them as soon as you wake up!

Stretch

This is a recommended part of any office worker’s routine, when you’re sitting in the same spot for too long your muscles tend to get a bit stiff. If you don’t incorporate this into your daily routine you’ll be paying the price down the line!

Schedule in short breaks

Productivity can be short-lived without the help of taking regular breaks throughout the day. You can use the Pomodoro method if you really have to as a friendly reminder to take a walk, or simply to just step away from your workspace.

Do one thing that intimidates you

It’s always good to challenge yourself even if that thing seems scary. Try at least one thing that scares you every week or if that seems like too much you can even try every month. Something that can be fun to do is set yourself 3 targets every month.

Commit time to honing a skill

Who wouldn’t want to hone something they are good at? It allows you to progress even further and trust me others will notice the improvement and all the hard work you have put in. Very few are born naturally gifted so finding ways to take your skills to new heights is so inspiring and incredibly motivating.

Straighten up your workspace

Your workspace is where you spend most of the day right? Let’s be honest it can get messy from time to time so giving it a little tidy up may be much needed, you can do this when you feel your losing motivation or 30 minutes before the end of the workday.

Set and stick to a sign off time

This one is for the freelancing and WFH crowd. I can’t stress this enough stop working past your scheduled time. The work will still be there tomorrow it’s not going anywhere so just step away from it. After all you’ve been working hard all day.

Track your habits

Tracking your goals and habits is such a mood booster because you can celebrate all that you have achieved and it can give you the motivation to keep going. It can be done in a variety ways it’s just about finding the right way for you.

Some things you can do are:

  • Bullet journaling

  • A planning app

  • Google calendar
