Wow, the future I have been envisioning since the Jetsons has finally arrived. Forget science fiction, Futurama move over and make way for Autonomous Ariel Vehicles (AAV’s), unmanned flying drones ready to transport you to your required destination. Autonomous futuristic driving now a reality! Could apple take the hang 184 and transform it into a global phenomenon?
The E Hang 184 aptly named for conveying 1 passenger, it has 8 propellers and 4 arms is the trans-formative passenger transportation set to take off in Dubai flying at an altitude of up to 11,000 feet, and can travel 62mph for 23 minutes with a range of 10 miles. Step inside and plot your destination and be ready to be whisked away. It plans to have a ground control center and uses LIDAR, (Light, Imaging, Detection and Ranging) a detection system that uses the light from a laser and encompasses the system of a radar which uses technology sensors that measure distance to a target by illuminating the target with a pulsed laser light and measure the reflected pulses with a sensor, a narrow laser beam can map physical features with high resolutions therefore the Autonomous Ariel Vehicle can navigate safely through the environment using rotated laser beams
Lidar, encompassed with Solar Powered Roads which are in the process of being ergonomically designed for durability. Solar Roadways Incorporates aims to develop solar powered road panels to form Smart Highways using their proof of concept technology, combining a transparent driving surface with underlying solar cells, electronics and sensors to act as a solar array with programmable capability. Soon we will be living in Smart Cities, Travelling along Smart Highways and living in Smart Homes.
Apple car will have a thermal imaging system for automotive night vision, accidents statistics show that driving during at night represents a significant potential danger. FIR and NIR (far infrared and near infrared) technology offer substantial benefits in different conditions, the benefits of NIR systems together with high beams may be limited. The benefits of using a far infrared (FIR) are that they have a superior range and pedestrian detection capability, there is a lower rate of visual clutter on the image which is shown to correlate with pedestrian detection distance.
Biometric Advanced Access, Biometric Access introduces another level of security to vehicles. For example the presence of a valid key inside the vehicle is no longer enough to start the engine as the driver is also required to provide authentication using a fingerprint sensor. This two-fold authentication process significantly increases the vehicle’s anti-theft protection measures. Biometric elements also allow drivers to personalize their vehicles. The system is connected to an interior camera, which recognizes the driver’s face and automatically personalizes vehicle settings, such as seat and mirror position, music, temperature, and navigation, for the driver in question. Intelligent Glass can also be integrated, which allows drivers to gradually darken almost all windows of the vehicle and lightens them again automatically when the driver approaches.
Core technology for highly automated driving Dynamic eHorizon calculates the route preview based on highly accurate map data and dynamic information. It has access to an HD map stored on a central backend server and downloads the latest data for the relevant area. Dynamic content such as traffic restrictions, road works, traffic flow or weather is transmitted precisely for the current vehicle position. Vehicle-to-X (V2X) ad-hoc-communication in real-time is an important building block towards Highly Automated Driving and the realization of Vision Zero – a world without any traffic accidents.

Envisioning the first apple car, with the above concepts. It will be the first signs that cities are evolving into smart cities, the first apple car could be a hybrid car creating 2d and 3d maps and encompassing all technologies such as intelligent traffic light assist and e-horison, Auto parking and competing with Tesla for superiority in the market, it could jump straight into the Autonomous Ariel Vehicle or it could be the first eco-friendly electric car that supersedes expectations. However if apple could manage all three it would transform transport in a way not seen since the car was invented by Karl Benz in 1886
