Apple Watch Series 3 vs Fitbit Versa | Which Smart Watch is Best
Fitbit is known in the fitness detection industry for its long (and impressive) line of notebooks and sensors - but first tested the Smartwatch's waters with the release of the Ionian from last year. Now, Fitbit will soon release Versa, which serves as Apple's competitor with improved smart features and enhanced design. The latest Fitbit product is particularly attractive for women's demographics in appearance and function.
Versa is smaller and cheaper than the ionic, but how does it fit with Apple Watch World? Not only is it the best selling look in the world, but Series 3 is designed to replace your smartphone, even if it's not the case yet. In our own review of Versa we were impressed, but how about the popular Apple Watch Series 3? We put the two in a head-to-head confrontation to find out. Here is a comparison war or fitbit smartwatch vs apple watch and it is pretty much interesting.
Specification
Although Fitbit Versa's internal specifications are still relatively unknown, our first appearance showed a fast shipping - and only a slight delay when browsing. In Series 3, Apple announced the S3 processor, which promised a 70% performance increase over the S2 processor found in the previous iteration.
Like Series 2, Apple Watch Series 3 includes a built-in GPS that allows you to record training sessions even after hours. Versa allows users to leave their phones at home, but also without the built-in GPS, the accuracy of remote tracking suffers. To fully experience the Versa experience, a smartphone is recommended, but we found that it still worked well when we decided to leave our mobile home.
Apple Series 3 smartwatch also comes with optional SIM card compatibility and LTE mobile connection - something completely missing from Versa. Even though you have to pay extra to use the mobile phone connection - and it is currently supported by EE - Apple Watch Series 3 can completely replace your smartphone with the ability to make and receive calls, send messages and send music without holding an iPhone over Bluetooth.
The Decision of adding GPS works for Apple.
Since then, Watch OS4 Apple Watch has focused on detecting physical fitness. Fitbit's credit is probably the most well-known and most sensible brand in the fitness industry. It is therefore not surprising that Fitbit OS 2.0 has a lot of data and fitness features. With regard to smartwatch functionality, Versa can include messages from your smartphone, including text messages, application messages, phone calls, and calendar events, as most Apple Watch also offers.
The only aspect of Versa that we did not really like was that only Android users have the ability to send answers to text messages and email programs. From now on, iPhone users can not do the same - even though developers are working to resolve this issue.
Given that Fitbit has only made Versa available for pre-order recently, it is not surprising that its feature set is not found in comparison with Apple Watch. Although Apple's decision to include an integrated GPS sensor gives its watch a big advantage.
So, for the specifications: Apple Series 3 Wins
Design & Shape
Fitbit has happily made some necessary improvements to the first male form of the Ionian. Versa has curved edges and more aggressive angles, specially designed to look better on those with thinner wrists - something that women would like to appreciate. As we mentioned in our review, it's easy to miss Versa for Apple Watch. With regard to its weight, Fitbit says it is the lightest metal smartwatch in the United States to date - even with its larger size.
Although available only in clear or pink silver, Fitbit offers many different bands that you like, including Horrent silicone, metal and leather options. There is even a special custom-made watch that comes with its own woven fabric straps beyond the normal plastic strap that makes it easy to shop when you work out.
Apple Watch Series 3 is identical to its predecessors, with the exception of the 4G LTE color point of the digital crown. It is a thicker pressure than previous models, but if you use it, you will hardly notice. Apple Watch Series 3 is available in gold, silver, gray aluminum and black stainless steel case. There is also an Apple Watch version in gray ceramics, as well as a new sporting tour with an encompassing group.
When it comes to performance, both Fitbit Versa and Series 3 have a 1000-lumen display, making it easy to see outdoor and vibrant colors. Apple Watch Series 3 has a small advantage over Versa with regard to pixel density, but it's so small that you will hardly notice. With regard to buttons, Versa has three hardware buttons next to its touch screen, while Apple Watch Series 3 has a more elegant rotating digital crown. Versa and Apple Watch Series 3 are both waterproof up to 50 meters.
While Fitbit has made the biggest improvements for both companies, Apple Watch Series 3 has a bit of Fitbit thanks to its pixel density advantage and slimmer design.
So, for the Design: Apple Series 3 Wins
Battery Power
Although the design and specifications are almost neck and neck, Versa dominates battery life. Fitbit has included a 145mAh battery that has a battery life of over four days, which is almost twice as much as Apple Watch Series 3. On paper, it is said that the Apple Watch series lasts from 3 to 18 hours, but Apple has provided information about more detailed scenarios. The Apple Watch Series 3 LTE model takes about three hours of conversation when connected to an iPhone, lasts about 10 hours during indoor training and plays music for ten hours when connected to Bluetooth via Bluetooth.
Although Versa does not offer a built-in GPS or mobile connection, it is clear that the battery life is longer. This is especially useful for outdoor enthusiasts - for example if you want to watch fitness during a weekend getaway and do not want to bring a loader.
So, for the Battery Life: Fitbit Versa Wins
Price Range
Fitbit Versa is currently available for pre-order for $ 200, while Fitbit Versa special edition - including Fitbit Pay Compatibility - is priced at $ 230 on the company's website. Global availability starts from April. The basic Apple Watch 3 Series with GPS is $ 330, which is $ 100 more than Fitbit Versa Special Edition. Apple Watch with GPS and mobile phone costs $ 400 and is available on Apple's website or from multiple retailers. Although Apple Watch has additional features, built-in GPS, and mobile functionality, the cheaper and impressive Fitbit Versa price cards are hard to ignore.
So, for the price range: Fitbit Versa Wins
In General: Apple Series 3 Is the Winner
While we only scratched the surface compared to what Versa shows our Fitbit first impression, the company has produced a powerful product with clever features and design that clearly counteracts the Apple Series 3 clock. Its battery life and affordable price serve as sugar cane on the cake - but we cannot go beyond the lack of built-in GPS.
With regard to fitness features, we see similar similarities between the two models, emphasizing that they both deliver an accelerometer, pulse rate monitor, and altimeter. Fitbit Versa has added an additional point to offering women outstanding women's health care that allows women to follow their menstrual cycles. However, Apple Watch Series 3 offers many of the same features without an official tracker. These are also the reasons to buy Apple watch rather than Fitbit Versa.
Where Apple Watch Series 3 really stands out, its programs and features. Apple had more time to build library programs, while Fitbit Versa had limited choices. Apple's programs range from productivity to games and shopping, all available to your wrist. Over time, it will change, but Apple currently has wider smartwatch functionality, making it difficult to edge Versa.
