Apple Turns RED to Raise Visibility for World AIDS Day
Throughout the year, Apple has partnered with (RED), a charity aimed at raising awareness and funds to fight AIDS. Apple has always been a staunch supporter of this cause, but now they have decided to step it up even further.
Getting knowledgeable about AIDS
Getting knowledgeable about AIDS Day on World AIDS Day is one of the many ways that you can help fight HIV. Despite some progress, millions of people continue to contract HIV around the world. This is especially true in Africa.
The “Know Your Status” campaign is the official World AIDS Day theme for 2018. It is a communications effort to promote knowledge about the disease. The campaign also highlights the need for universal health coverage. The AIDS Memorial Quilt is a simple and effective way to commemorate those who have died of AIDS-related complications.
Education is one of the most cost-effective ways to prevent the spread of HIV. There are several organizations that are working to do just that. A good place to start is the National AIDS Trust, which maintains the HIVaware website.
The best way to do this is through collaboration. The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPOA) is a nonprofit advocacy organization that advocates for the rights and well-being of people living with HIV.

Apple’s long-standing partnership with (RED)
Despite being a household name in the tech world, Apple has long been a supporter of the fight against HIV/AIDS. In fact, the company has given over $24 billion in grants to date, supporting more than 11 million people worldwide. As such, it is no surprise that the company is stepping up its fundraising game in 2014.
One of the more important AIDS-related milestones of the past few years has been the release of the iPhone SE (PRODUCT)RED. This model is a sleeker take on Apple’s original iPhone and comes with upgrades in both the hardware and software departments. Among the highlights are an improved camera system, a more powerful chip, and longer battery life. In addition, the company is donating a portion of the sales to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response, a program designed to provide access to life-saving HIV/AIDS programs to vulnerable communities.
Besides the new iPhone SE (PRODUCT)RED model, Apple is also adding four new (Red) themed products to its lineup. These include a pair of Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones, a special edition iPod touch and iPhone, and a limited edition Apple Watch Series 8 (PRODUCT)RED.

Apple is working with its (Product)RED initiative to educate people about the disease and raise money to support the Global Fund. These funds help HIV/AIDS patients and their families in sub-Saharan Africa.
Apple is also promoting its Preppy app, which helps people with HIV track their PrEP intake. The app is available to both iOS and watchOS users. It also helps users keep track of their intakes and checkups.
Customers will also be able to support the Global Fund through the sale of a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, or Apple Watch Series 8. All of these devices come with an official (PRODUCT)RED iPhone band. The series also includes new watch faces to complement the Sport Loop.
