It's difficult to envision how a wrist watch could spare you from unavoidable passing – however James Green's Apple Watch is the motivation behind why he is as yet alive.

The Brooklyn journalist and podcast have got a warning a week ago from his Heart Watch application saying that his heart rate was higher than normal. In spite of sitting at his work area for a few hours, his heart never fell underneath his standard resting rate of 54.

The warning, alongside a couple of different side effects that Green had seen amid the week, provoked him to visit a specialist.

A CT scan at that point demonstrated that the 28-year-old New Yorker had an aspiratory embolism in his lungs, which – if overlooked for any more drawn out – would have been deadly.
