Forbes: - New iPhone 8 leak reveals Apple's slick secret

This is a leak I hope is wrong, but fear is right," writes technologist Ewan Spence in Forbes.

Rumors will cause Apple to unveil next-generation iPhone at an event in the US on September 12, 2017.

Not too many years ago, these press conferences consisted mainly of new information, but in recent years, Apple has not managed to keep the details of its upcoming mobiles under cover.

Press conferences have largely focused on confirming rumors Apple interested have already known before.

This is how it is this year too. After all, we know most of the details around the iPhone 8 after a powerful stream of rumors and leaks through the first half of 2017.

"Apple's Sleek Secret"
One of these rumors is that this year's mobiles from Apple can be charged wirelessly, a long-awaited upgrade for many iphonebrugers.

But, should we believe Forbes's writer Ewan Spence, Apple has so far managed to hold back one detail around the wireless charge that is less fortunate for consumers.

Spence calls it "Apple's sluggish secret", and the connoisseurs of the technology giant will draw attention to tactics, if it turns out to be voiced.

According to the Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple has chosen to use proprietary wireless charging technology rather than established industry standards. The problem is that Apple's technology will only deliver 7.5 watts to 15 watts that are common otherwise.

Strikes consumers in several ways
Forbes believes the motivation is in financial gain since this solution allows manufacturers to make products according to the "Made for iPhone" program - which gives Apple a license fee.

If the rumors are correct, it may affect consumers in a number of ways:

Not only will it take longer to charge the phone wirelessly compared to other manufacturers, "Made for iPhone" means that the product increases in price. In addition, its iPhone may not be compatible with public charging points at airports, train stations, coffee shops and so on.

"Again, Apple has chosen to maximize its financial gain, rather than promoting one standard for community good. This is a leak I hope is wrong, but fear is right, writes Ewan Spence.
