How security conscious are you? When I saw this sticker on my window, I realized ...

... that I am not sure if the alarm on the car works as, I have never heard it.

There used to be a time that car alarms would be going off all over the place but at least here now, it is very, very rare. Finland doesn't have a lot of this level of break and enter crime though.

What I am wondering however is if it just isn't worth breaking into cars like it once was or, if the security level has improved making the risk not worth the reward.

Currently, security is a massive point in crypto but there will likely come a time where it is much less so as security services more readily integrate to offer high level security without so much complexity. Mainstreaming crypto is going to require it in the long run as most people have become accustomed to outsourcing their security to automated and centralised services.

While this might go against the idea of responsibility of ownership and freedom to some extent, for average users they will welcome the sense of security offered, even if it is only a sense.

Hold onto your keys.

While opportunities exists, people will always seek to steal! Always important to be aware of these risks across the spectrum of both physical and digital!

Shortcuts are seen everywhere by those in need. I wonder if they took the long road from time to time?

It's really a matter of concern, because as far as we're concerned we haven't yet reached a point where we can say we're crypto-cally secured

The best option is to take all precautions known :D

I am pretty security conscious. I keep my Masterkey offline as much as possible. I would've installed eSteem Mobile on my new smartphone but didn't because it wanted to know my Masterkey. Sorry, I won't give no Masterkey to an app. Nobody should.

Yeah, I have no idea why a Steem app would want a masterkey.

Crypto security is highly needed because i can not risk losing my funds.

Needed for simplification but, you are the best security for your account.

My main crypto keys are offline - I use keychain and metamask - are they secure? I don't even know?!?

I had a real wake up call when I changed computers recently about how much data is stored with Google.

It's one of those things which I've paid some attention to but never really nailed - I use 2FA a lot. I even bought a yubi key 2 years ago - but still in it's packaging - no idea what I'm sposed to do with it!

Funny I just saw 'hacking via wifi' in that pic, not a car alarm.

I don't know but I use Keychain at least.

It is insane.

You are one of US now... ;D

Simultaneously too paranoid and not paranoid enough according to the same friend 🤣

Stupid car alarms. Someone broke into my car once and the alarm didn’t go off. My partner later opened the door exactly the same way the thief would have (arm through broken window and unlock the door) to retrieve paperwork for insurance and to get whatever information was needed for the window guy to fix it and THEN the stupid akarm went off. Was annoyed 🤣

Hope your car alarm works and your car never gets broken into and all your monies and whatnot are secure 😄

Be paranoid, be very paranoid :D

Yeah, I have never really found them to be effective deterrents as those who are looking to actually steal a ar, know what they are doing.. learned from YouTube probably :D

All my monies are securely held by the tax office....

The days of breaking in to cars to steal your Alpine tape deck are over. My city has strict bylaws regarding all nuisance alarms. I don't lock my car as 99 percent of car break ins here are addicts looking for change, i just don't leave anything worth stealing in the car

Not a great deal of junkies in Finland but I did have my stereo stolen 10 years back :D

in my opinion crypto security at the moment is very complicated to be hacked by other parties because all the teams on Crypto must work well

Um yeah, it is complicated but learning about it is important.

I don't trust anything on the internet. I would welcome more security as this will help create mass adoption. The more security offered will definitely help move crypto forward.
