This was actually for a Japanese holiday called setsubun. The Oni is supposed to represent bad luck and misfortune and you’re supposed to chase it out of your house.
Wow... Setsubun is sure bad news!
I hope the kids did give you a good beating & were able to throw you out of the house...haha!

They were plenty aggressive this year! As the kids get bigger, being the Oni gets harder and harder.🤪
