Anthony Davis suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of Tuesday's matchup with the Trail Blazers.

Davis injured his knee after just five minutes on the floor and was initially listed as questionable. The Pelicans announced early in the second quarter their All-Star center would not return.

The 24-year-old had two points and one rebound before leaving with the injury. Davis was at least walking around on his own power.
Davis had recorded 17 rebounds in each of his first three games. He was the first player since Happy Hairston in 1974 to put up those numbers.

DeMarcus Cousins stepped into the lead role in the paint with the departure of Davis.

ESPN reported Davis will undergo an MRI on his knee to check for damage.
