FATHER, FILL ME WITH YOUR ANOINTING

READ: I Samuel 16:1-13
Key Scripture: Then Samuel took the bottle of oil, and put the oil on him there among his brothers: and from that day the spirit of the Lord came on David with power (I Samuel 16:13)

THOUGHTS
David was anointed with oil and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. This is what I mean by the anointing of God. Anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. At one point or the other, you may have encountered the Holy Spirit. If you are confirmed, then you have encountered the Holy Spirit through the sacrament of confirmation. If you have ever encountered the Holy Spirit, you understand what it means for someone to be filled with the anointing of God. However, the challenge and the question people often ask is how they can sustain the anointing of God in their lives. I will not give you a list of things to do. Just one important step you need to take: wait on the Lord. Isaiah 40:31 says they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Prayerlessness kills anointing more than anything else. If you are asking how you can regain your anointing. It is simple: unlock your prayer life and go back to your position of waiting for the Lord.
