Do Cartoons Suck?
Do cartoons suck these days?
The simple answer is yes they do…But in all seriousness, in my opinion cartoons have lost their appeal as an enjoyable source of viewable content. Don’t get me wrong, in the past couple of years, TV has seen some great cartoons air. To name a few (these are cartoons that I enjoy by the way)

The Amazing World of Gumball
Samurai Jack (2017 Reboot)
These are just the few that I have enjoyed seeing aired on television. But the main question to ask here is: What Makes A Good Cartoon? Well, in my opinion a good cartoon has few things: Great Animation/Art Style, Story Telling/ Engaging, Memorable/ Relatable Characters, (Not always but) A theme the viewer can take away. I’m sure there are others out there that may disagree but hey, this is the internet and my OPINION MATTERS MORE THAN YOURS!
Jokes aside, why do I, as well as others, feel cartoons have declined over the years. Well there can be a number of reason for why but here are some reason why I feel cartoons have declined.
Culture change.
In the era of the internet and Netflix, television has lost the attention of kids as the internet is able to provide a greater volume of content instantly.
Increasing Popular Interest In Anime.
Now this one is something that I’ve seen with friends that have gained interest in anime. The typically reason for this interest is that anime has more topics that are generally not explored in cartoons today such as social issues or topics that question our everyday lives.
Lack of Effort From TV Networks.
It seems that kid TV networks have been supporting contact that is not very well thought out to create interest among viewers (Teen Titans Go!!! Need I say more).
Maybe I’m Just Growing Up.

Regular show is such a good show ! It's definitely my favorite. A very good story, awesome characters and a lot of great jokes. I've probably seen every episode now a couple of times. I've watched the finale like 4 days ago and I felt so emotional realizing that it's over. The ending was superb. It's been an awesome ride watching this cartoon, so many good memories...
Exactly! In my opinion regular show did a lot right and is up there for me as one of the greatest.
